So in 2016 we [E] played Okachobee Festival down in Florida and we played our set, we played at noon, got done and I saw all these kids, just, I mean all types of people, all walks of life going to [B] main stage.
[F#] Different than everything else that had happened that day.
So I sat down and I was gonna [C#] check it out, I didn't know who Mac Miller was [E] and he came out with so much energy and he had like 50,000 people, I don't know, [F#] 40,000, doesn't matter, [E] many thousands, elevating with him.
[F#] Comes out of side stage, just, [Bm] and [B]
his [E] set just moved, I was moved, you know.
I [B] had not had a moment like that in a long time with a musician, with a show, because I do my own thing and sometimes it's like the blinders come on and I don't wanna see any music.
And then so we had an 18 hour drive back to Nashville [A] and I bought, [F] I still don't know how to pronounce the [B] record, but it [E] says G-O hyphen, I mean colon [A] O-D space A-M, god damn, good morning, good A-M, good T-M, [G] listened to the whole thing.
That was his new release, I went back and [B] listened to Watching Movies with the Sound Off and went back and [G] then a year, eight months later he put out Divine Feminine, it's amazing, and then Swimming and then he passed.
[G] And then in the beginning of January of this [F#] year [Em] we started a tour in Pittsburgh where Mac Miller's from, but on the way up we stopped in New York City and did a Paste magazine [Em] session and they were like, we want you to do cover.
And so on the drive up in the van I was like, well you should do Come Back to Earth and the band that I'm playing with, they learned it by listening to it [B] and the [F#] first, what you [Am] hear when you [E] watch the Paste session [Bm] is our second take and it is [Em] straight up on.
The [A] special thing about Newport Folk Festival [C] is my [D] [E] memories when I just first started [B] watching footage of Bob Dylan and when I started writing [B] songs it was him and Leonard [E] Cohen and Jerry Garcia [D] and Townes Van Zandt [B] who I dove into [A] and so everybody knows [E] the Dylan [Em] Electric.
But that's a strong [B] felt by the world moment that he decided to do that he might have not even thought about that big but [G] it's a big moment for everyone [E] and that moment created a bunch of songwriters.
And it's growing.
[Am]
I [G] put my first album out in 2012 and [E] I played in 2013 at the Harbor stage and then [G] three years later we played at the main stage.
We [E] started off Saturday and I had a [F#] full band and then today we're in the quad stage with a bigger band, [Em] seven of us [E] and I get louder and I get [E] softer.
And I think [G] about Bob Dylan.
