Reacting to NEW Metallica "Lux Æterna" chords
Start Jamming...
What's up everybody got my guitar got my Marshall half stack here probably should be a Mesa boogie
Maybe for this video.
There's a new Metallica single that just dropped out of the blue yesterday called Lux Eterna
It's from a new record that's coming out.
I love this that they didn't tell anyone that this was happening.
This is very cool
It's really the first return of Metallica since the stranger things master of puppets video was in the top 10
Unbelievably a few months ago.
I just looked at it
It's produced by Greg Fiddleman who did their last record in 2016 hardwired to self-destruct
I'm assuming it's in standard tuning that whole record was all classic Metallica music is in standard tuning
But it sounds like it's tuned way down.
Let's check it out
[A]
[D] [A]
[D#] It [A]
starts out with a little chromatic [D] lick
Which I can't play with down strokes [C#] now
[C] [B]
[N] Maybe I can like [C#] this
[C] [B]
[A#] [C#] [C] [B] [A#]
[Am] Whoo, that hurts old guys like me can't play down strokes unless you're James Hetfield
Then you [C#] can
[C]
Then [C#] [C] [B] [C#] [C]
[B] [N] [A]
[D] [A] [E] they go into this [D] leg.
[A]
[D#] [A] I love it an open a

[B] [Am] [D] [G] [C]
[Bm] [Am] [C] [D] [G] [C] [B]
[F] [E] Band will be a
Love [A]
where
[E] the riff falls [A] in the beat with the drums.
It's really really cool guitar tones are phenomenal and
Vocal sound is great.
The only criticism I have so far is that it's almost too perfect
I love the way that the riff kind of is offbeat basically with the drum parts
I love where the placement of the riff is I think it's really cool and it's super tight drums are super tight to me for
Metallica, these are pretty mid-range II guitars unlike
Even if you go back to the last record those guitars sound more like Metallica guitars
These are more what I would call up front high mid-range guitars.
No problem with that.
I love it.
Sounds powerful
Doesn't sound like Metallica exactly to me.
Let's keep listening.
[Am]
I

[C]
[G] [B] [A] [G]
[Bm] [Am] [G]

[A]
[D#] [A] [D#] [A]
[D] [A] [G] Does
They do
[Am] [C] walk down
[E] The solo starts on each
[A]
[Em] [A#] lick
Nice
[G] [B] [N]
[A]
[D] [A] [E]
[A] Very
[Am] [G] [A]
very well played solo like development wise right the ideas only criticism
I have is the solo just buries the rhythm parts.
I mean it needs to come down.
I mean to me personally
3 DB 4 DB something like that.
I love the solo tucked back a little bit
I think it would have a little more more impact because I'm losing
I kind of lose the drums there because the solo is so loud, but it's a very well played solo [Am]
[Bm] [A]
great tones
[D]
[G] [C] [B] [A] [G]
[B] [Am]
[G] [B] [A] [C]
[G] [C] [B] [F] [E]
[Em]
[A]
[Gm] [A]
[D] [C#]
[C] [B] [C#] The [B] intro [D]
[C#] [C] [B] [A]
yeah
[Dm]
[D#] [E] Wow
Love the little coda there at the end the placement [N] over that lick is
[A]
Love
[E] where that happens in the phrase.
I think it sounds really killer drum sounds are great.
They're very edited though
If I had to criticize it
Sounds too perfect.
I mean that's really my own criticism only criticism about it compared to the last record from from
The hardwired record that sounds more Metallica to me than this single does a little bit
But it's great to hear a new Metallica and it's powerful and it's got a good riff and it's back to thrash again
I mean the last record really was kind of a return to their
Return to their old-school style and we'll see what the rest of the record sounds like
