[F#m] [Bm] I'm
[F#m] [Bm]
so happy. Oh, yes.
[F#m] [Bm] The reasons for my life.
A million [A] faces.
[Bm] Like making promises.
I feel them in my [F#m] bones.
[Bm] Slipping through my [D] fingers.
To dance [Bm] on the road.
[F#m] [Bm] I can't help.
The reasons for my life.
I can't help.
[A] [E] But, [Am] oh, [Bm] the sweet [F#m] delight.
[Bm] To sing with [F#m] all my heart.
[Bm] And [A] spark [Bm] the [A] inner [D] light.
Of a wonder [Em] bird.
[A] You're not.
[B]
You're not.
[N] [F#m] [Bm] The reasons for my life.
Are buried in deep [F#m] places.
[Bm] We're weighing them.
These seeds that I have sown.
[F#m] [Bm] Ringing through the madness.
To crash against the cold.
[F#m] [Bm] The reasons for my life.
Cannot be bought.
For the love of you.
[F#m] I can't help.
But, oh, [Bm] the sweet [F#m] delight.
[Bm] [D] To sing with [F#m] all my heart.

You're not.
Come on, Mary.
Tell us about that machine you use.
You go way up high.
That's the little birds you got in your pocket or something, is it?
No, I like birds, though.
It's my little larynx.
That's what I've been told.
You really have what they say in the business.
Thank you.
Nice to have you.
How y'all like Minnie?
Minnie, you started out, I guess, with the Rotary Connection some years back, right?
That was my first attempt at success.
Or really doing any traveling.
Had you recorded before the Rotary Connection album?
Many years.
I started recording when I was 14.
I was signed with Chess Records.
In Chicago, right?
Yes, and I signed with a group called The Gems.
And we made little mediocre records.
And we traveled in the Midwest.
And besides that, we background everyone just about in Chicago.
That's my little girl screaming in the background.
She wants to sing.
In fact, she does.
But I've enjoyed just all my years of singing.
A lot of people will say, well, you've paid your dues.
But I paid my dues.
My union dues, too.
But you enjoyed it.
But I've had so much fun.
I've worked with so many incredible people.
I've been really fortunate that I've just really enjoyed it.
Minnie, it's really nice to have you.
We'd like to see you back on the Souls train again real soon. My pleasure.
How about a gang photo?
