Grant me serenity [Dm] to accept [Bb] things, things I [F] cannot change. _
I've spoken to so many different girls [Dm] all around the world in my [F] travels and just after shows
and one of the big things that comes back over and over again is that they feel [C] such a struggle with the [Dm] issue of beauty
[Bb] and their own personal beauty and are they [C] beautiful and can they [Dm] attain that.
[F] Beauty and self-image, that's been something that I've struggled with in my life.
_ _ [C] Especially doing so many [D] photo shoots since I was like 16 and [F] just being up in front of a lot of people
I think that's expanded even the pressure that all [C] of us women feel _ [Gm] in this area at certain points in our lives.
[Dm] I remember it got [F] to the extreme at one stage where I looked at myself in the mirror
and I felt such compassion for how critical and how harsh [Dm] I had been on myself
that I just [F] wept and apologised _ to myself for being just so wrong.
[Dm] I think it's good to take care of our bodies and to be [F] healthy
but when it becomes an obsession it actually makes our souls ugly.
[C] In my [Dm] wings you can [Bb] shine, _ _ _ [G] in your [Dm] strings I can [F] fly.
Self-image has been something I've really wrestled with
and the thing that God's really been [C] teaching me is that the true kind of beauty,
the [D] kind that he really wants for [F] me is the kind that comes from my soul, comes from my heart
and it's the kind that only [C] he can give.
He can [Am] take even [D] our struggle with the topic of [Gm] beauty and [Dm] self-image [Bb] and draw us closer to him [F] through it.
That promise that all things work together for good to those that love the Lord and are called according [Bb] to his purpose.
_ [F] God brings beauty [C] from ashes.
[Dm] He can take [Bb] a really challenging situation [F] in our lives, [C] a really painful situation,
even our [Bb] struggle with beauty [F] itself and [C] bring good out of it.
[Dm] That whole Ecclesiastes [Bb] idea of [F] you make [C] everything beautiful in your time,
Lord that's such an [Bb] encouragement to me.
[F] He makes [C] everything, even pain, beautiful in his time.
_ _ [F] _ You make [C] everything, everything _ _ beautiful.
You make [G]
everything, everything, yeah.
