Start Jamming...
[C] [B] [A]
Very amazing, lots of cows and sheep.
[C] Beautiful, amazing crowd.
Very nice.
[A] Have you heard of anything about Festival Four?
Yeah, [G] I heard it, [C#m] very nice.
[Gm] Actually, [C] we wanted to play last year but we couldn't make it.
[C#] I think it was alright.
[A]
[N] How did you enjoy your set?
Amazing, super, super crowd.
It was very nice for us because we played some new stuff from the album, the new album is coming out.
And [F#m] the reaction was very nice.
Amazing.
Can you tell us briefly about your live set up?
Yeah, you can see.
Come, come, have a look.
This is the brain, this is Mr.
Brain.
[A] He gives the clock to the Volca.
[D#] We got drum machines and [F#m] we got synthesizers.
Not ok but…
It was here.
[D#m] I swear it was [A] here, [D] Juno.
So we're playing some live stuff, [G]
some things from the album, [F#m] some stems.
[F#] We jam, we do what we can.
[A]
We're playing, I [G] think we're [N] working for 10 years.
We're recording in Tel Aviv.
It took some time but I feel that Tel Aviv scene is very, very [G] great.
We [Gm] do nightlife and music and dance and rock and roll [G#] and music in general.
It makes sense that a new wave will come [N] with young producers and musicians.
I think since the beginning we've got some very good…
There is a new wave, you can call it, in the last 3 years maybe.
It was before in the 80s, in the 90s and now we feel [D] like the last 2-3 years [B] many artists are starting [Gm] to [E] do it [G] right.
[N] And then being a duo… What?
Being a duo… Duo?
Duo?
Being a duo.
Being a duo, how does that work for you?
Do you ever have a split opinion?
Always.
We always split and then we… ok.
Split… ah ok.
But on production and your set?
[C] We just need to [A] be concentrated on the best [D] solution every time.
[N] Because if we agree on [F] everything, [N] it doesn't matter.
It's like the [F]
point, you know, when [A] you agree in the end.
[Bm] [F] You were once a professional [F#m] tennis player?
Yes.
And you were both in the army?
Yeah.
[F#] At what point did you both realise you were going to pursue music as a career?
During [N] the army.
Yeah, I think.
For you [F] maybe younger.
[D] I quit tennis at 21 [F] [F#] and then I started to make music.
But we were making [B] music [Fm] since we were 15 [D]-16 together.
[F#]
We work on the plane, it's the best.
You get food, [D] you sit and you [F] work.
It's perfect.
[D] But for the album, [F] we went for one month only every [A] day to the studio.
No shows, no nothing.
So, yeah.
It's different.
Changes.
[G]
[Am] [C]
[A] Three records you [C] would save for [A] a desert island?
Wow.
[F#] [C] Crips, Leavitt [A] Underground, Neil [F#] Young, Harvest.
I take [E] Meyer Ariel.
He's an Israeli [F#m] artist.
But I don't [C] know.
Some album of [F#] him, I don't remember the name.
And many [G] more.
I take my Apple music.
[Em] How is the rest of the year shaping up for you as Red Axes?
[Bm] It's quite busy.
The [E] album is coming out very soon.
[F] And many gigs, many festivals.
[B] [A#] We've just been to America, [F] we did an amazing trip [C] in Africa, which will be [N] a film.
We're going to finish the year with a Gaza festival [F] in the desert.
We've [N] got a festival, we've got [F] a band, some guests.
And then lastly, one word to describe Gotwood?
[N] Gorgeous.
One word.
[F] One word.
[N] Gorgeous.
Woo-ha!
