Hi guys, how you doing?
It's me Sam.
I just wanted to make a video today because my friend and bandmate
John wet and died today
with his long battle with cancer and
I think it's important
When things like this happen that people, you know, take the time to remember and talk about the good times
Because there were plenty of great times with John, you know playing in a [B] band with John
since 2013
[D] You spend rather a large amount of time in someone's [N] company touring and recording and all of this and
And John was really special, you know, I mean aside from his
musical career of you know playing
In so many amazing bands [E] like King Crimson and Uriah Heep and of course Asia
John had an exceptional sense of humor
In the early days
[B] John was actually the first member of the band [B] that I met back in 2012
I remember going to the studio and being pretty nervous to sit down with John with the
possibility of the Asia gig coming up and
you know John made me feel very at home very quickly, you know shook my hand and
We sat down and chatted for a while and it didn't feel awkward ever, you know
I remember when I joined the group
Often I would travel with John to the gigs.
The first gig we played was in Milton Keynes not far away from
where we used to [D] rehearse and record and
You know John would give me a ride in his Porsche to save me being in my
Honda Civic
Yeah, John John was great and you know on those car journeys and there were many of them
[E] We would laugh so much with our mutual love of you know, things like Monty Python
John had such a quick [G] wit he was always so fast to make jokes and
Yeah, we laughed a lot over the years
often on stage as well, you know if I was playing solo John [N] would come up behind me and
You know scream in my ear things like go on you bastard
And I you know, look over and have a big smile on his face
Yeah, amazing times on stage and
Just such such a legend and I feel very privileged that I got to spend so much time with him
I'm thinking a lot of his wife Lisa and his son [F#] Dylan this time.
I can't imagine how hard it must be for those [G] guys
Yeah, so rest in peace John.
It's it was a pleasure to
To serve alongside you
Okay, thanks for watching guys.
See ya
