Hi YouTube, hope you're all keeping well.
This is just a quick video to show you my latest acquisition.
Some of you might have recently seen I sold my Custom Shop 56 Stratocaster
because to be honest I wasn't really using it very much.
[Bm] But I did really want a Fiesta Red [N] Strat with gold hardware so I looked at all the various options
and unfortunately Fender don't seem to make a model other than the Custom Shop at £2,200.
The nearest they do these days is the Classic 50s series which is sort of similar but as I say is
missing the gold hardware and to upgrade one of those is probably looking around £200.
I then stumbled across this company called Revelation.
Alan Entwistle has designed some
of the parts and they're his pickups and they had a model called the Revelation I believe it's the
RSS Sleepwalk.
You can probably gather from the name what sort of guitar this is.
But I thought I'd do this video.
These guitars are £250 roughly so I'm interested to see whether
they're any good.
I've read a lot of write-ups but this model really [B] sort of caught my eye being
Fiesta Red and with the gold [F#] hardware as well.
[C#m]
[B] But nevertheless let's have it come wrapped.
I hope you can see that okay.
Just carefully, certainly [Bm] well packaged.
[F#] Guess the sign's almost here.
Feels like Christmas time today.
[C#m]
[Bm]
[G] It's got a very good [N] feel on the neck there.
You can feel the quite a sharp V on the neck
actually.
It should be interesting to see how that [E] feels.
There we go.
[N]
So it's the Revelation, it's the RSS model I believe.
So yeah these are available there,
about £250 I believe.
To be honest it looks pretty good.
Looks actually quite like a heavy
sort of block in there as well.
I'll get that off and get the back plate off and have a look.
Now they're Allen Entwistle AS57 pickups.
I hope you can see that okay.
It sounds in tune.
No [Bm] it doesn't.
Not far off considering.
[C#m]
But yeah we'll have a tune up and see what that's like.
I've no idea where these are made and I have
no idea anything about these to be honest.
But
[B] so what caught my eye was the colour and the gold
hardware.
So that's very rare to find on a production model.
So normally you have to make
that yourself.
I'm not a fan of the aged plastic parts if I'm perfectly honest.
I'll probably change those and put some conventional ones.
But the tremolo system looks
[Bm] good.
It's got a five-way selector switch and a volume two tones.
Even [N] the headstock's not
too unconventional.
It's close.
We've got gold Cluson tuners on there as well.
Or gold
Cluson style tuners.
Yeah that looks pretty good actually.
So yeah I hope you enjoyed that
brief unboxing video and I'll be using [E] this in a video soon and let you see how it sounds.
[D] Okay until next time I'll speak to you soon.
