I don't know if my mom's here.
Mom, are you out there somewhere?
Yeah.
Where are you, Mom?
Over there.
Sorry we couldn't get you a better seat.
[D#] Can you come up here?
[N]
She doesn't know this.
She thinks that she's going to sing this [G#] song, but it's a song
You know, I grew up in a musical family with the Salmon Mountain Show.
We performed right here at Silver Dollar City many, many times [N] for many years.
And the most requested song that we had at the Salmon Mountain Show,
even though my dad really doesn't admit it, was the song that Mom sang.
And so, Mom, I'm going to steal your song right [A#] now, but I've sang harmony with you on this song for so many times.
[Am] Would you sing harmony with me on this?
[F] You're never going to use that.
[E] [N] We're going to debut it right now.
I've never even sang it before, but I just thought this would be a fun time to try it.
It's a beautiful song written by [F#] Randall Hilton.
And we certainly miss Randall and his incredible songwriting.
But as I was singing, I [E] was kind of singing this backstage.
And I know now why it was the most requested song for the Salmon Mountain Show.
What a great message and what a beautiful story.
[N] It's one about Suzy.
It's called Slippers with Wings.

Suzy was three when [E] she first blessed our home.
We loved her as much [A] as a child of our own.
But her little legs [D] were all twisted [Bm] and free.
[A] It wasn't fit [E] for Suzy to [A] be in the bedroom.
In [E] her little bedtime prayer [B] she would say,
[E] Lord I know you can't see today.
But when you get some time, [A] only it's pretty please.
[E] Can I [B] have some [E] slippers with wings?
[A]
[D] [F#m] [E]
[A]
She loved to watch the kids [E] on the playground nearby.
They'd call Suzy's name, [A] she'd wave and say hi.
But her little [D] tears would leave a window stain.
[F#m] It wasn't [E] like our Suzy to [A] complain.
[E] She would say to her brown [B] puppy dog,
Little Skipper [E] you know it won't be long.
Till I'm running late at [A] night like my friends.
God [E] sending me gold [B] slippers [E] with [B] wings.

[D] [F#m] [E]
[A] [B] [A]
Suzy turned four by [E] the time we had through.
We'd left her gifts told [A] and the collar left her cheeks.
Christmas Eve came and [D] we prayed by Suzy's bed.
[A] I still can hear [E] the last [A] words she said.
[E] Mommy mommy there's a man [B] dressed in white.
Daddy look [E] he's shiny and bright.
And he's holding some ribbon [A] and string.
[E] Well I'm pretty bare [B] with [E] slippers with wings.
And if ever I was [A] certain of one certain thing.
[E] Suzy's wearing golden [B] [C#] slippers with [E] wings.
