[E] OK, this is a tutorial for Riders of the Storm.
I'm going to do it probably in three, four, five parts, I'm not sure yet.
Let's start with the bass line because that's all the way through the song and it's the easiest part of the whole song.
It starts on the second E up the top here.
There's the first, there's the second.
But I'm going to play it on this E [Am] to show you how it's played.
[Em] [A]
[Em] [Gbm] Right, so we start with E minor.
[Em] So it goes E, B, G, B.
Then it goes E, [A] A, C sharp, [Bb] A, then [Em] back to the very beginning of it.
[A]
If you're an advanced player you would know that the second part of that bass line is actually an A major inversion.
[N] So this [Em] is where it's played here.
[A]
[B] [E] [A] [Em] [A]
[Em] [A]
[G] [A] [G] So that goes all the way through [A] the song.
[N] Later on in the videos I'll tell you when [A] to change to this bass line.
[Am] [D]
[Am] [A] [Em] [D]
[Em] [Fm] Right, so [Em] the [A] bass line and then [Em] you do that four [A] times [Em] and [C] then we come in with this.
And that is E, exactly where I'm playing it.
E, [Bb] [Em] A, B, and then E, and then back to B.
Really fast.
So roll your hands.
Roll.
And then the next part after that [N] goes, [Gb] [Bb]
[Eb] [Bb] [G] so that's G, A, G, [Ab] F sharp, E, F sharp, G, F sharp, D, [Bb] and then slide from this D sharp to E.
[C]
[Fm] And you have to do that fast as well.
I suggest [N] starting with your middle finger.
[Bm] So [Bb]
[Am] [Db] that and that [Em] together sounds like this.
[A]
[Em] [A] [Em] [A]
[Em] [A] [Em] [A]
[Em] [A] [N] And then we have this crazy run that Ray does.
It starts all the way down at the end of the piano but I'm going to show you the pattern in one octave form.
And then it just repeats.
So it [E] starts on the very, very highest B.
Very high.
[Gbm] And then it ends on this F sharp here.
Which is one, two, three, the fourth F sharp of the piano.
[N] So I'm just going to play it.
And you have to hold the pedal for this.
[Bm]
[Em]
And the pattern for that [Bb] goes,
[B] B, [C] G, [Bb] A, F sharp, [Gm] G, [E] E, [Bb] F sharp, D, [Em] E, [Bbm] C [Bm] sharp, D, B,
[Gb] C sharp, [Dm] oh sorry and A.
[D] A after that.
[C] So it goes [D] and [Em] [A] [D]
then repeat.
But obviously [Am] you start at the higher end and [Gbm] then you end here.
And then once you've gone all the way up the piano, [C] sorry down the piano, [Gb] you get to this [Em] key, finish on E minor, which is the same keys as the bass line.
[D] [Em]
And [D] then D major, [Em] E minor.
But we [N] get to that.
So one more time, really slowly.
Remember to start at the very highest end, which is that key.
And it goes.
[G] [Eb]
[D] [Em] [D]
[C] [E] [B]
[Em] [B] [G]
[C]
[Abm] [D]
[E] [Gb]
[Dm] [Ab] [Eb]
[D] And then we're back to the beginning [Em] part.
[A]
And then don't [Gb] forget when you get to this F sharp, after you've hit the F sharp, [Em] hit E minor.
Then go [D] D [Em] major, E minor.
I'll show you that now.
And the bass, of course, goes all the way through.
[A]
[Em] [A] [Em]
[D] [Em]
[D] [Em] So when you start the [E] bass, you hit the E's together.
[B] [E] [A]
And then when you hit the [D] D, sorry when [A] you hit the C sharp in the bass line, you [Gbm] hit the D major together.
[A] And then back.
[Em]
[D] [Em] [D] [Em]
But you also have to roll these keys.
[D]
[Em] [D] [Em] [D]
[C] And that's it for part one.
In [G] part two we'll be going.
[Am] And [D] [C]
[D] [Em] [D] [Em]
[B] then in part three we'll be doing the solo.
Okay.
Thank you.
I'm going to do it probably in three, four, five parts, I'm not sure yet.
Let's start with the bass line because that's all the way through the song and it's the easiest part of the whole song.

[A]
If you're an advanced player you would know that the second part of that bass line is actually an A major inversion.

[A]
[Em] [A] [Em]

[C] And that's it for part one.
In [G] part two we'll be going.
[Am] And [D] [C]
[D] [Em] [D] [Em]
[B] then in part three we'll be doing the solo.
Okay.
Thank you.

_ [A] _ _
[Em] _ [A] _ _ _ _ _ [Em] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [D] _ [Em] _ _
_ [D] _ [Em] _ _ So when you start the [E] bass, you hit the E's together.
_ [B] _ _ _ [E] _ [A]
And then when you hit the [D] D, sorry when [A] you hit the C sharp in the bass line, you [Gbm] hit the D major together.
[A] And then back.
_ _ [Em] _ _
_ [D] _ _ [Em] _ _ _ [D] _ [Em]

Okay.
