[Dm] [F#] We set out to make something different for sure.
I worked with my good friend Taylor Steele, who [B] I worked with making your typical surf
movie for the last probably [E] 20 years.
And we knew we kind of wanted to [G] push ourselves to do something beyond that and it's definitely
[F#] not a documentary either.
So it kind of [E] falls [N] somewhere in there.
I wouldn't know how to really categorize it, but the whole idea was really to kind of give
you the feeling that you're [E] experiencing what I experienced.
I was inspired by my kind of wanderings.
I spent six months in Indonesia [C#m]
just [E] kind of pushing myself to go beyond what I normally
would do [A] on a typical [C#] surf trip and kind of get out and adventure beyond my normal means
and see [C#] what happens.
We kind of just try to document everything.
Sometimes we had to recreate [G#m] things that there [E] was no camera crews there for.
In the end, [E] it's really just supposed to kind of give you a feeling of what I felt.
There was times where I'd cruise with [C#m] maybe one or two guys and there was times there
was eight or ten of us.
[C#] And it really changed for me actually that scene.
That was the first time that [E] I set up my tent.
And that was the first, that was like a breaking point for me that helped me separate myself
from my crew.
Because I camped there and those [C#] guys would have to split and go back to a hotel that
was an hour away and charge batteries and download cards and make sure all their [E] gear is cool.
And that was like my time to be like [G#m] separated from those guys.
And that [A] was a turning point for me in the movie.
Once I figured out my tent was like my little [C#m] home away from home, [G#m] I really could just crawl
in there and people wouldn't talk to me.
[E] I could just zone out and read a book.
It was like the best thing that could happen.
And that way, when those guys showed up [E] and they wanted to shoot this or shoot [A] that or
set up this, I was cool.
I was like, alright, cool.
I've had a little quiet time away from you [C#] guys.
And I could really [C#m] stay in that place that I wanted to be in.
