Start Jamming...
[Em] How you doing?
This is Robert Bubby Lewis.
I [C#] want to give a special thanks to Galleon Kruger, Bob.
I love you, man.
I love the whole GK family.
Everybody.
[G#m] Thank you.
[F#]
[B] My life is pretty weird.
[G] I honestly [G#] didn't see myself as a professional [F#] musician growing up.
[D#] [C#] [G#] When I started playing the bass, I just saw it as like a fun hobby.
[B] And a lot of people around [C#] me, you [F#m] know, would say, man, you should try and make it a career.
[E] And it's just that number.
And I never saw that for [F#] myself.
But it's just something that the Lord [A] did, I guess.
That's the only way I could say it.
[C#] [F#m]
[B]
[D#] [C#]
My first [F#] big break in the [A] entertainment industry was a year and a half after I [D#] moved to Los Angeles, [F#] California.
A very, very good friend of mine named Andrew Gouche, he actually [D#] made a phone call [G#] and
got me on Snoop Dogg's gig.
That [Dm] was my first gig ever.
It [C#] was like mind-blowing to me to, you know, [C] my first break in the [C#] industry is with this
[B] miraculous A [C#]-list artist.
It was really like, it's still to this day, [F#] I think about it like, dude, I was [B] just turning
[G] 21 and here I am in Europe with Snoop [F#] Dogg.
[B] There are a million challenges as a professional [D] musician that [A] any and every musician, I don't
[C#] care if you just started playing yesterday [Bm] or if you are [A] 60 years in the game, there
[D#] is always something to deal with.
The challenges are [G] there to help you [B] progress [C#m] because you'll still have [B] the love for the music.
That's what you started [C#] playing the instrument for because you love [B] the music.
You know, you love that instrument, you love how it sounds.
So keep that and you're going to be all right.
[F#]
[E] The first time I played GK was when I [B] first started playing bass back in my dad's church.
But when I was fortunate to [C#m] join the GK family was [E] 2008.
It was a Snoop tour.
I'll never forget.
[G#m] Snoop wanted [Bm] everything [D#] on the stage to look really, really big.
So I was on this quest to [C#] try and get like four cabinets, [F#] you know, at least four [A] cabinets
and a few heads.
And a [D#] buddy of mine that's in the GK family, we call him Horse.
[Bm] He called me and he says, well, I've got nine cabinets.
[Fm] And I just kind of, [G#] not my mouth hit the floor, but I hit the floor, [Am] honestly, if you want
to be honest.
[Fm] Nine cabinets and five bass heads.
[F] And he [C] said, is that enough?
[B] And I didn't answer.
And [F#] then finally I was like, oh, OK, yeah, let's roll with that.
And I got a chance to play through it at the first rehearsal before this tour.
[G] And it was like back to the future.
[A] Just one little pluck.
And I mean, the [Em] room was [D] destroyed.
And I fell in love with it.
So I had an [E] awesome, great experience for my first time with GK.
