Robin Trower Twice Removed From Yesterday Lesson Tutorial chords
Start Jamming...
Okay, twice removed from yesterday.
It's going to take a while to get through this song, so I'm just going to
I'll let you know [Em] what I'm using here.
Obviously I'm using a Strat, tuned straight up 440, A440, a little analog delay,
[D] full tone, full tone digital [A] tape, [Em]
intensity [D#] set at about 1, 2 o'clock,
and [A] here's the speed again.
[D] [C]
[E] And the rest, I can't explain that because it's going to take too long.
This is my third time doing this song.
Anyhow, the main thing you have to know in this song
[Em] There's a couple things you need to [F] know.
First of all, hold the tremolo, the vibrato bar, this is the way I hold it,
between [G#] my little finger [G] and my ring finger.
You right-handed players, I don't know why the hell you play right-handed,
it's so easy to play left-handed.
Go into music, there's free guitars there, you can give them away.
Anyhow, that's the [F#] way I do it.
You can hold it any way you want, it doesn't matter.
It's very important to use that.
The other thing that is very important is to let the open E and the open B ring,
and the G string changes, but this [A#] chord
[E]
[E] You can hear me with [F#m] the [E] vibrato.
That's the way it goes throughout the whole song.
I'm playing it on the neck pickup, by the way.
Here we go.
[Bm]
[Em] [B]
[Bm]
[D#] The D string does not [Em] sound.
You have to use this portion of your [F#] first finger here, [A#] the very tip,
[F#]
the butt up [Am] against the D.
[A#] It doesn't [E] sound.
It's dead, okay?
So, throughout the whole song, okay?
Well, this chord at least.
[Bm]
You've got to have the E string, the E string [Gm] and the B string, [E] and the G string,
but the E and the B have to ring.
That's very important in the song, and so is the vibrato.
If you don't have one, don't worry about it.
[Bm]
[Em] [B]
[Bm]
[E]
That's the only time [Gm] you can use the open E when you're on this chord.
I'm using this as a root, [F]
my
It would be a ring finger for you guys.
[E]
[Bm]
[Em]
[B]
[E] [E]
Okay.
[G#]
Here's a [D] F, F, F.
[F#]
[G] This is a Hendrix chord.
[F#] [D#m] [D]
[E] Open E.
[F#] Now we're going to go to octaves.
I'm going to try it one more time.
I still got time left.
[D]
[E]
[F#]
[D] [E]
Okay, here comes the part, the lead in, the [D] intro for the solo, the lead in.
I'm not [G] going to play the solo.
That would take too long.
[E]
So it's G string on the fourth fret and the D string on the sixth fret.
Here's the open E if you want to.
It's kind of tough to do them all at once unless you use the A.
[C#m] So [Gm] that you
The G string on the fourth fret, the D string on the sixth [E] fret.
[B] Hook them both and then [E] hammer your pinky.
I'm sorry, your little finger.
Yeah, same thing, right?
[C#] [E]
[E] [Bm]
[C] Right about there.
[Bm]
We're going to octaves.
So this is the D string, then the A string and the D string.
[F#]
[B] [C#]
[G#] [F#] [D]
[C#]
[A#] [G#] That's the A and the D string.
[G] That's a G.
[B] [F#] F sharp.
[E]
[C#]
[E] [D] [F#]
[D] [C#]
[G#] [G]
[A] [B] [F#]
[E] [Em] [E]
[Bm] [Em]
[B]
[Bm]
[E]
I hope I covered everything.
It's [N] an easy song to play.
God knows it's not an easy song to write.
Damn, that guy is
He was just born with it, I'll tell you.
Ow, another dent.
Oh well, he's a shimmy.
He was just born with it.
Thanks guys
