Whoa, well this is only my second time.
I mean I'm [E] very happy to have been invited [C] back a second time.
I can't believe it.
But hopefully there will [Eb] be many more.
This is my first [D] as Jason Faulkner, but I think, I can't remember, I think I played with Air.
But it's first with [A] Jason.
I think the Japanese audience in general is [G] very, very, [D] very different than other audiences in the world.
They're more respect and, [A] you know, excited.
They really [Gb] react to when you interact with [F] them.
[E] I experienced that with my [Ab] own show where I was talking a lot to the [G] audience and even speaking in English,
[A] but kind of my own broken version to try [D] and connect with Japanese people and they [B] really react.
Yeah, I would second [Bm] that.
I mean they're just really [G] passionate and [D] they're not [A] so jaded yet.
I [G] hope they never are.
I mean when they get into an [D] artist's work,
[A] they commit to it.
And like Jason said, they give back themselves as fans and that [G] just makes you want to work that much harder for them.
You don't want to play that much of a, you know, [Db] throw yourself into the show.
[Ab] And it's effortless over here.
I just [G] show up and I go, oh yeah, this is why I got [D] into this business 25 years ago or [Eb] whatever, you know.
Because it's very interactive and you get the payoff.
Well, it wasn't until I found out that he was going to be over here doing a [G] show himself
[E] and I knew that we'd be [G] sequestered up here in the mountains together.
Nobody's going anywhere.
[G] So [C] I don't even know, maybe it was even somebody [Eb] at [A] Bad Noise McCartney Records.
Bad [D] Noise, yeah.
This guy.
Our friend, yeah.
Koda.
[E] So it [F] just made all the sense in the world.
So [D] we just talked about it and [G] the schedule's worked [Eb] out.
Why not?
Let's give it a shot.
[F]
Well, we [C] are friends because [D] I'm signed to the label that they have.
[A] And they came on [G] stage with me [Eb] in September of last year.
So I kind of [Ab] think that every time I come here, maybe Karelia will do something [F] for me.
I think now it's a pattern and it's really fun [Ab] because [F] they are such verbal and vocal fans, you know.
[G] They are always telling me, it's my [D] dream to play with you and everything.
It's very flattering, you know.
And also my band, which is only four [Ab] people, gets to be six.
And that much bigger and that much more of a racket.
[G] Three guitars is kind of fun.
[N] Yeah, I was 17.
A [G] long time.
Totally good.
Totally [Abm] natural.
Yeah.
Felt [E] like a pickup right where you leave off, you know.
We'll try to see Sparks tonight.
[Ab] They're playing at 10.30.
Yeah, we love Sparks.
[Abm] I'm leaving, but I was here yesterday.
My show was yesterday.
So last night I saw My Bloody Valentine, which [Eb]
completely [Ab] changed the structure of my brain.
It's warped now.
It was incredible.
[Abm] And what else did I see [Gb] yesterday?
My friend Jamie Lidell was good.
[Eb] He's awesome.
He's [N] crazy.
Really good.
Yeah, but My Bloody Valentine was extraordinary.
Jamie was [G] yesterday, right?
Yeah.
I missed everybody who I actually wanted to [Eb] see.
No music, no life.
[Bb] [N]
I mean I'm [E] very happy to have been invited [C] back a second time.
