Ronnie Fauss - "Big Leagues" chords
Start Jamming...
This could have been the big leagues.
I could have been a star
They say I had the talent
But they also say I didn't [C] have the heart
Knew it [G] from the start
Big leagues, it's purely autobiographical
It [D] might seem that it don't faze me
[C] But it's tearing [G] me apart
Just kind of processing a lot of things that have been going on in my life at that time
Could have been a poet
Some folks say I am
Could have been a preacher
But to save a soul you gotta [C] give a damn
And I'm not that [G] kind of man
And [D] I pray like hell to find out
[C]
Jesus
[G] understands
When we started recording last through the new album, I pretty much had the entire album written and
Was in a period of writer's block
So I took a trip down to Austin with some friends [C] or South by Southwest
We saw some artists.
I really [G] loved like Ryan Bingham and Hayes Carl and
When I drove back to Dallas my writer's block [D] broke in this song big [C] leagues
I sat down and wrote it within [G] about five minutes.
It was kind of a stream of consciousness thing
Wake up every morning hearing rhymes and melodies
It's been around for ages
But no one else has heard them, [C] but me I
Just write them down [G] for free.
I
[D] Would gladly take the credit
[C] But all I'm doing is [G] listening.
I made a couple of trips out to Nashville where
I'm lucky enough to have some friends out there who are
phenomenal musicians and have them throw
guitar and piano and accordion and steel on the album a lot of the [C] overdubs were done just in smaller studios and
Garage apartments here [G] around town.
I'd go grab a friend and he'd add something
He [D] gave all he had to give us
[C] It was [G] not enough
This is the first album that I've self-produced it's a reflection of a lot of my greatest influences
really excited for
People to finally hear this album.
No sure I didn't [C] have the heart
