Rubber Boots -- Pat and Joe Byrne and Baxter Wareham chords
Start Jamming...
They're re-appearing after a [G] long musical hibernation [N] and absence.
In fact, I was speaking to them backstage and they can't remember [G] how long.
Many people will [B] know their iconic recording, [Dm] Towards the Sunset,
which incidentally [Ab] is still available.
It's in the Merc tent.
I've been [Gb] told to
definitely say that.
It was [N] originally made on LP, then it sort of went into a cassette state,
now it's finally available on CD.
These guys are, of course, Pat and Joe Byrne with Baxter Wareham.
Hailing from the resettled Presentia Bay communities of Great Paradise and Harbour
Buffet, Pat and Joe and Baxter have [Dm] spent their lives [Gb] singing the songs and telling the stories
of the places [Em] and people of Newfoundland and Labrador.
[Ab]
They came together in 1983 [B] to record
that [Eb] recording, Towards the Sunset, a [Ab] landmark album in the [Em] folk revival in Newfoundland.
Songs like The Government Game, The Rocks at Maraschino, Rubber Boots,
and Paul Marks in [D] the local tradition.
[Eb] And we're proud to present these [E] fine gentlemen
on the same stage for the [D] first time in so many years that [Ab] they can't remember.
[N] Please welcome them, Pat and Joe Byrne with Baxter Wareham.
[Eb] Yes, I'm here on stage.
Anyway, we're going to play [N] five numbers from [Gb] the CD [Bm]
and we'll start
with the one we [Ab] don't like and we'll work [Gb] our way up from [G] there.
[Gb] But we were told that if we
didn't do [G] this we'd be hung on our [Ab] clothes burners.
So [G] here it comes.
