[N] Beautiful downtown [G] of Bentonville, Tennessee.
[B] If y'all want to be down underground in the cave, listen to Bluegrass [C] Music.
You want to hear it, come on out.
[Eb] [Gb]
First [E] and foremost, I want to thank all of you for being [D] here today.
We've been looking forward to it [A] since the [D] last time we were here.
And I was talking to Larry [Gbm] earlier today before the show [A] started,
and he asked what I [Eb] thought about the venue [A] here,
and I said it has to be the most unique place [Bb] in the 20, 25 [D] years that we've been a band,
[G]
that we've ever played.
And I think [Dbm] that [D] says a lot [B] for us,
and we've played a lot of different venues all over the country.
But also for you [Bm] guys.
I mean, [F] how many of you have [Gbm] never been here before?
Wow.
Man.
[C]
[G] [Gb] Guys, I can get the old jokes out.
[Db]
[Gb]
[D] [B] [Db] Well, I'll tell you a little bit more about everybody [E] on the stage, what
[D] they [Eb] do,
and of course you can hear [Bm] what they do.
Some [Eb] of the finest musicians in [C] the country up here on the stage right now, in my [Ab] opinion.
[E] [A]
[Bb] You can hear it.
[F] [Bb] [Gbm]
But really, we're so excited to be here [Ebm] today and perform for you,
[E] and we hope you [Db] like something that we have prepared for [Gb] you,
and that you leave here with a smile on your [B] face and a great memory to look back on.
[Db] And, you know, a CD wouldn't [Bm] hurt.
[Ab] [B]
What you saying?
[Ab] I can do a song for you now.
[B] How many of you listen to Bluegrass, the [Gb] local Bluegrass radio station,
or Sirius XT, Bluegrass Johnson, do you all listen [C] to that?
[Db] Well, we [Ab] have a new single out.
It's from our [B] upcoming [Ab] CD due for release [E] sometime this summer.
[D] We don't have a release date as of yet, but we'll let you know when that [B] is.
It's just A-S-A-T.
But we do have the first single from that upcoming CD.
And it went out to radio, I guess it was last week.
[Bm] Was it last week or the week before? Week before.
[Abm] [B] Time flies when you have a buzz.
Amen.
[Bm] But this [B] was a great [Bm] up-tempo, three-quarter, time signature Bluegrass song.
And it's [B] written by Kyle Burnett, a very young writer in our business.
But he's got the essence of a much older person, a songwriter.
So I was really impressed with his [E] style the [B] first time he demoed [D] something to us about two and a half years ago.
But [Gb] he wrote this song.
It's [D] really hard.
I want to give him credit because [B] it's hard to write a song about [Eb] some of the most well-known Bluegrass themes
[B] and make it sound fresh and new, you know, [E] like [Bb]
moonshine, [B] [Gb]
[B] guns.
[E] [B]
[E] He
[B] [Gb] took it from Bluegrass things.
[B]
[C] But he did, [B] and he did a great job with it.
And so that's why we [Bm] decided to make this first [B] single off of the upcoming CD.
[Bm] [A] We hope you enjoy it.
You got it?
[B] All right, let's give it a shot.
It's called Brown Tent.
[Abm] [E]
[B] [Abm]
[B]
You're my deadly shotgun
Making [E] from the good sand
[B]
Mama can't tell me who to [Bm] trust
I [Db] know what I'm doing
[B]
I ain't a liar
I
[E] [B]
[Gb] can't tell this night to [B] day
Turn out the light
I [E] don't know the day
Or the [B]
hour
Days like this
[Abm] I'm down in [B] hell
And I'm gonna hang for my [Abm] day
Cause I ain't [B] in Brown County red
[E]
[B]
[Db] [B]
[E] [B]
I'm lost [E] since the end of the [B] line
Oh, I've lived by the storm
[Dbm] By the storm, here [Gb] for the ride
[B] They'll bury me underneath their tree
These carved words in the trunk
I'll never forget
I can't tell this night to day
Turn out the light
I don't [E] know the day
Or the [B] hour
[Gb] Days like this
[Abm] I'm down in [B]
hell
And I'm gonna hang for [Abm] my day
Cause I ain't in Brown County red
[B] I can't tell this night to day
Turn out the light
I [E] don't know the day
Or the [B] hour
Days like this
I'm down in hell
