Start Jamming...
Now we're going to learn Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
The first thing with this song is we're going to tune down a step and a half.
So the low E string will be tuned down to C sharp.
So the low E string sounds like this.
Low [E] tuning here.
The [F#] A string, [B] D string, the [E] G string, the B [G#] string,
[C#] and the high E.
[F#] [C#]
Now here's the intro riff.
So
[A] [B]
[C#] [E] [C#]
[A] [B] [C#] [E]
[C#] [G#]
what I'm doing here is I'm starting off by playing the A string and the D string open
[B]
and then hammering on to an E5 power chord, 7th fret of the A, 9th fret of the D.
[C#] [B] After doing that hammer on, I'm going to strike the E chord three more times, [C#] [G#] followed by
two hits on the 7th fret of the A string.
[C#]
And that'll be a little more muted when I play those two hits on the 7th fret of the A.
Now [B] I'm going to repeat that hammer on, [C#]
but this time I'm going to slide off and [E] then
come down to a C power chord.
[A#] [A]
The C power chord will have the root on the 3rd fret of the A string, and then I'm also
going to include the 5th fret of the D string.
[B] I'm going to move that up a full step to a D power chord, up another full step, [C#] which
is two frets, to an E power chord, up three frets to a G power chord, and [E] then slide back to E.
[C#]
Strike the E again, [G]
followed [G#m] by two hits on the 7th fret of the A [C#] string.
If we put it all together, it sounds like this.
[A] [B]
[C#] [E] [C#]
[A] [B] [C#]
[E] [C#]
And a little faster.
[A]
[B] [E] [C#]
[A] [B]
[E] [C#] [D#]
So there's the intro riff and the verse.
Coming out of the verse, we're going to be into the chorus, which is going to be a clean
part, and it sounds like this.
One, two, three, four.
[F#]
[E]
[A] [F#m]
[G#m] [E]
[A] [F#m]
[E]
[F#m]
[F#]
[D#]
Okay, so with this clean sound, I'm going to start off with a chord called A [F#m] minor 9.
It looks like this.
So what I'm doing is playing the open A, 10th fret of the D, and then the 12th fret on the
top three strings.
Now the first time we get to this A minor 9 chord, there's a little fill that sounds like
this,
[A] [G]
which is a stretch here.
We're going to stretch from the 12th fret to the 15th fret [F#] of the B.
The chord now would
be called A minor 11.
I'm just going to play that once and [F#m] then go back to the A minor 9.
And this only happens on the first riff.
[A]
Then we're going to go to a G [E] major 7 chord.
[Fm] The G major 7 has the root on the 10th fret of the [E] A string.
We're also going to play 12 [B] on the D, [D#] 11 G, [C] 12 [G#] on the B string.
And then we can bar and also play [E] the D note on the 10th fret of the high E string.
Okay, so we're going to go from [F#] A minor 9 to G major 7.
[E] [G#m]
[F#] The second time around, like I said, we're not going to include that D note, that stretch,
that A minor 11 chord.
We're just going to play back and forth between the A minor 9 and the G major 7.
[F#m]
[E]
[C] The third time through the progression, it's going to be [A] the same as the second time.
[F#]
[E]
[G#] The fourth time, we're going to go [F#m] down to an A minor 7 chord.
[G] That's going to be played by barring on the fifth fret and then grabbing the seventh fret
of the A [F#m] string.
And [G#m] then the distortion comes back in and we're [B] going to play a D chord.
I'm not going to include the high E string, so we're going to play the open D, second
fret of the G, third fret of the B, that's a D5 chord.
And then I'm going to [D] lower the third fret of the B down to the second fret of the [B] B string.
So we can call this an A chord with D in the bass.
I'm going to go back and forth between those two chords three times, [F] but we'll have distortion
on that final chord there.
So here's the [F#m] chorus.
One, two, three, four.
[F#]
[E]
[A]
[F#m] [E]
[A]
[F#m] [E]
[F#m]
[F#]
There it is.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _
Okay, so we're going to go from [F#] A minor 9 to G major 7.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[E] _ _ _ _ _ _ [G#m] _ _
_ [F#] _ The second time around, like I said, we're not going to include that D note, that stretch,

We're just going to play back and forth between the A minor 9 and the G major 7.
_ _ [F#m] _ _

And [G#m] then the distortion comes back in and we're [B] going to play a D chord.
_ I'm not going to include the high E string, so we're going to play the open D, _ second
fret of the G, third fret of the B, that's a D5 chord.
_ _ And then I'm going to [D] lower the third fret of the B down to the second fret of the [B] B string.
So we can call this an A chord with D in the bass.
I'm going to go back and forth between those two chords three times, _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [F] but we'll have distortion
on that final chord there.
So here's the [F#m] chorus.
_ _ _ One, two, three, _ four.
[F#] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [E] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [A] _ _
_ _ _ [F#m] _ _ _ [E] _ _

[F#m] _ _ _ _ _ _ [E] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [F#m] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [F#] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ There it is. _ _
