In this tutorial I am going to show you how to play this beautiful Salsa Piano progression.

Now let's take a look at the chord progression.
In this case we have 4 lines with 4 chords.
The first chord will be C.
Very basic, very easy.
With my left hand I play the root, with my right hand I play some notes from the chord.
And I am going to play it for 2 times.
The next chord will be D [Dm] minor.
[D] That's it.
Very basic.
_ Then we go to G7add9.
And look I just move the bass to the G.
[G] _ That's it.
This is G7 9.
This is the 5, the 7 and the 9.
_ I play it for 2 times [C] then I go back to C. _
_ The next chord will be A minor 7.
And I just move the [Am] bass to the A note.
_ This is A minor [A] 7.
Then we go back [Dm] to D minor for [D] 2 times.
Then we go to [G] G7add9 for 2 times.
And we finish with [C] C.
_ _ _ That's it.
Now I am going to count 4 beats on each chord.
1, 2, 3, and_ _
_ _ _ [Dm] _ _ _ _ _
[G] _ _ _ _ _ [C] _ _ _
_ _ _ [Am] _ _ _ _ _
_ [Dm] _ _ _ _ _ [G] _ _

_ And now I am going to show you how to play the bass line roll, the tumbao or the left hand.
When I play C chord I am using the note C, [G] G and [C] C.
When I play [D] the D minor I play D, [A] A [D] and D.
[G] When I play the G chord I play G, D and G.
[A] When I play the A minor I play A, [E] E [A] and A.
And now I am going to show you how to count it.
When I play the C chord the first note is falling on the 1, all the other notes are
falling on the end of the 2 and 4.
The end of the 2 and 4.
Like this.
_ [C] 1, [G] 2 and 3, [C] 4.
1, [G] 2 and 3, [C] 4.
1, [G] 2 and 3, [C] 4.
1, 2 [G] and 3, 4.
That's it.
Now I am going to play the chord progression with the rhythm.

So when I play the C chord, I just splitting the note and I count

When I play the D minor chord, I play it like this
[Dm] 1 and 2 and [C] 3 and 4 [F] and 1 and 2 and [C#] 3 and 4
On the G chord I play [Dm] 1 and 2 and 3 [B] and 4 and 1 [F] and 2 and [D] 3 and 4
[C] On the C I play 1 and 2 [B] and 3 and [A] 4 and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4
[C] On the A minor chord 1 and [B] 2 and 3 and [C] 4 and 1 and 2 and 3 [C#] and 4
[Dm] D minor [C] chord 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 and [C#] 3 and 4
[Dm] G [C] chord [F] 1 and 2 and 3 and [C] 4 and 1 and [B] 2 and 3 [C] and 4 and 1 [A] and 2 and 3 [C] and 4 1
Let's do it with the rhythm
