This is Robinson here from Soundpierre with Alan Shad, two-time national flatpicking champion.
And we have some guitars which we're going to enjoy hearing him play on.
We've got a bourgeois four-piece Brazilian with an addy top that was actually voiced here.
He took two addy tops, left one unscalloped and scalloped the other one.
We ended up with the one he scalloped right here in our studio in this very room.
And we've got a standard Santa Cruz Tony Rice guitar right here.
And then we've got a Boucher, one of the new manufacturers we've been working with.
They're based out of Canada.
And that's a quadruple A-grade Adirondack top with Babinga back and sides.
And you might notice it's a little bit smaller.
It's sort of a hybrid OM shape.
And it's ideal for flatpicking some blues.

Again, I'm Robinson.
We're here in Durham, North Carolina at Soundpierre Studios.
This is Alan Shad, two-time national flatpicking champion.
He was good enough to come in and play some of our guitars today.
And keep a lookout for him because he's got some great plans for 2014.
If you want to talk about any of the guitars you heard, or if you want to talk about any
of the mics we used, or if you want to talk about some studio time, just give us a call
and we can go over it.
Thanks for watching.
