Hi y'all, hope everyone is doing okay out there.
My friend Chris Thiele and everyone at Live From Here has had the wonderful idea to start a series
called Live From Home and they've asked me to kind of help kick it off and contribute some music to the interwebs.
And so I'm gonna do a song for y'all by one of my favorite songwriters, James McMurtry, and
also gonna challenge a couple of my friends to do the same.
I'm gonna ask Sarah Watkins, Aoife O'Donovan, and Rosanne Cash and John Leventhal
to contribute some music to Live From Home,
almost at Live From Here.
And also our show at the Bell House
that was going to, all the money from that show was gonna contribute to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee
in light of the recent tornado in Nashville
and all of the terrible damage down there.
I just want to use this
chance, since that show is not happening, to encourage you, if you have the means, to please donate to the Community Foundation of Middle
Tennessee and I'll leave the link below this video.
So please enjoy some music
live from home.

[G] [D]
In my memory she [A] smiles while the [B] blessing is said
[G] Visions freeze, [D] tag dance in my head.
She [B] says I'll grow up big if I eat all my [G] roasts
I still believe in heaven but I won't believe in [D] ghosts
I'll put away [A] childish things
[D]
I'll [G] put away childish things
[D]
Every other [A] weekend, age of 13, [G] with my fishing pole [D] and my field and tree
[A] Riding back home on [D] the trailways, but [G] I looked out the window till [D] I saw too much
[A] And I called my parents by their [Dm] own first [G] names
I played in the alley, but I didn't play the [D] game
I'll [A] put away childish things
[Dm]
[G] I'll put away childish things
[D]
[G]
[Bm] Oh, [G] town won't add more
[D] They won't stop and [A] they won't go [Bm] home
They won't stop and they won't go home
[G] Beneath my window [D] they run
[G] [A]
[G] [Bm] [G] Probably it'll be alright
[D] If I keep it all locked up [Em] tight and
Wait [G] till daylight [D] comes
[G] Now [A] my boy goes like [Dm] a house on fire
He'll [G] never burn out and [Dm] he'll never retire
And I [A] remember when I used to think like that
[G] When I was young and [Dm] the world was flat
[B] But I'm [A] 40-some years old now [B] and man I don't care
[G] All I want now [D] is just a comfortable chair
[A] And to sell all my stock [Dm] and live on the [G] coast
I don't believe in heaven but I still believe in [D] ghosts
I'll put [A] away childish things
[Dm]
[G] I'll put away childish things
[A] I'll put away childish [D] things
[G] I'll put away childish things
[B] [Bm] Oh, [G] town won't add [D] more
They won't [A] stop and they won't go [Dm] [G] home
[Bm] [G] Beneath my window [Dm] they run
[G] [A]
[Bm] [G] Probably it'll be [D] alright
If I keep it all [A] locked up [Em] tight and
[G] Wait till daylight [D] comes
[G] If I [Em] [G] wait till daylight [D] comes
If [Em] I wait [G] till daylight [D] comes
