What brings us to New York today is we've been up here for a while recording the new Sabotage [D] CD. _ _ _

_ [B] _ _ _ _ _ [A] The New [E] _ _ _ [B] _ _ _ _
[F#] York City [E] vibe is what really brings [B] out the Sabotage sound so [A] we just packed our bags [E] and headed up to New York to [B] have a little fun and get some work done.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [D] _ _ [Dm] _
_ _ _ _ [B] is the first Sabotage [D] album in about 10 years where the same [B] lineup is on [F#] from the record before [B] so we had some time to grow together as people and as musicians and you can hear it in the music.
There's a good [Em] feeling within [D] the band on this record.
We don't really spend a whole lot of time listening to anybody else than ourselves.
I mean we [A] spend so much time together [E] and we write together, we live together, we [C] tour together.
It's [D] actually pretty scary.
The _ [N] music that we have hasn't changed other than us growing as musicians because of that.
I think the band [D] is very close to your own best friends and you can hear that in our music.
We actually really pay a lot of attention to the fan mail we get [A] and the response we _ get through the [Dm] people we meet on the road.
That actually influences anything that we do musically more than any business person or anybody [E] can tell us about where they think we should go because if _ [A] it wasn't for the Sabotage fans we wouldn't have lived for 17 years.
_ It's a very very important [N] thing to us and I think more than anything _ there's a whole feeling of family [Am] between everybody [D] involved with the band whether it's the record label, whether it's the magazines, whether it's the band or _ [G] _ everybody involved with [B] the crew or the [D] band.
It's just a family feeling and that's my favorite thing [G] and I think you can hear it in our [Dm] music. _

_ _ [F#] _ [D] Everybody pitched in on the songwriting process.
Chris did a lot of writing, Al [Gm] did a little bit, everyone got a chance to pitch [D#] in.
John of course is still with us [Gm] and our lovely producer Paul O'Neill who you're going [G] to meet a little bit later.

Paul O [D]'Neill for _ [A] just about [Bm] the last three or four Sabotage records has wrote [D] the majority [B] of all the lyrics.
He's been [F#] our producer since 1987.
His first record he produced [A] with us was called The Mountain [Bm] King and now he writes a [D] great deal of the lyrics and [A] as you [F#] may or may not know, Sabotage albums [D] sometimes have a story to it and this one [C#] does which Paul will [G#] tell you later and he is the [F#] storyteller for the band.
[D] _ _ [A] My [D] _ _
_ role in [E] Sabotage in the past when I [Fm] first got into the band [G] was just primarily [Dm] as a rhythm guitar player. _
Obviously throughout the [G] years we had a death of a very important member, Chris Oliva, and as I came back into the band and got to play more of the lead guitar, I got more involved with John, his brother, [Dm] in the songwriting.
_ It's very [E] important, it means a lot to me, everything I do with this band obviously, but to be able to sit there and work with John and try to [F] get him over the hump of losing his brother, just _ [Gm]
creating and [D] performing with Sabotage is very good.
So this was [C#] a very fulfilling year [F#] for me to be able to write with the band.

John's back singing a couple of tracks with us on this new CD.
He's also going to be touring with us live and we're going to have a show that [D] you can't miss.
[C#] _ _ [Gm] Right now he's in the studio [D#] working on stuff.
We're going to get to him a [C] little bit [C] later, but yeah, John's still very much with us and he's going to be belting out a few on the [A] new one.

Well, the record's getting released on September [C#] _
in Europe and the tour to follow will be sometime [D] within the next month after that.
You should [N] expect to see us over.
Can't wait to get back.
I mean, last year, to tell you an all truth and honesty, the trip that Sabotage took to Europe was an incredible one for us.
The fans and the crowds were probably just about the greatest thing I'd ever experienced in my life, so we're looking forward [A] to it.
Right now we probably will take a little bit of time off as soon as it's done and work on a little bit on the next TSO record, but then _ we're going to shoot a video more than [N] likely, do some rehearsals, a couple of weeks of shows here in sunny America and _ [A] get ready to head over to Europe.

It was great.
The turnout was a lot more than we expected and on the second run with the [F] summer metal [C#] meetings, it was even greater than we expected.
This year we're looking forward to doing even better than last year and we do have a great [Am] show that's going to be [N] worked up, something you can't miss.
_ Yeah, actually this next tour, _ we're going to make sure that for all the love and support that every fan throughout Europe gave Sabotage, we're going to [A#] make sure we come back there and give it right back to you guys again.
We're going to play a [A#m] longer tour and [F] we're definitely not going to play any shorter [N] shows.
No.
And the show that we're going to put on for you is going to be _ especially made up for our favorite fans in the world, which are in Europe.
