[Dm] Hey guys, [E] Sinister Gates here from Avenged Sevenfold, and I wanted to give you an introduction
to my new amp and show [Gb] you all the different possibilities, different tones, [D] all the different
applications and uses, and some bells and whistles and some stuff that you might not
find on your [Bb] everyday stack.
[G] [D] For the first channel, we're going to start with the one that I'm probably going to use
primarily for live settings and definitely [Bb] for [D] leads and big saturated tones, and that's
going to be the Lead 2.
Sounds pretty good straight out of the box, [Bb] what it's designed to [G] do, [D] pretty much everything's
putting high noon.
[Eb] [D]
[F] [Dm]
[C]
[D] It's really nice and tight, and [Bb] just a lot [G] of personality.
[Dm] For the second channel, what we're going to do is Lead 1.
This [Am] is going to be more of a rock [D]-based, kind of whiny [Bb] or nice [G] and [D] saturated and cool
for rock stuff.
It's got a lot of balls too, [Ab] and there's a [Bb] slight variance [G] in [D] tone and EQ kind of setting,
so a lot of guys
[Bb] probably would [G] like to use this [A] for their rhythm channel.
[Bb] It gets great [G] break up and it sounds [A] really, really cool.
So I [D] mean, just to [C] experiment with it and [G] check it out.
[A]
[D] [C]
[A]
[G] [D]
[A]
[D] [C] [A]
[Bb] So for our [C] third channel, we have the clean channel.
[D] There's two clean voicings on this, [Dm] one [E] American [Bb] based and the second UK [C] based.
First, we're going to start with the [Dm] American, and [E] [Bb] just a slightly darker, [G] more rich, kind
of warm sound.
You [D] might find this in, I mean, you just find it in your own different applications, but
I like to [Bb] play a little jazz on it, [G] richer voicing [Bm] sometimes.
[E] [C] [Bm]
[Bb] [Gbm]
[Abm] [A] [C]
[E] [Bm] [Bb]
[A] [Bm]
[D] Pretty cool.
And you have UK [Bb] voicing, and this is [G] really cool [A] for a lot of the stuff that we're doing
[Bbm] for [G] Avenged [A] and that really [D] nice crystal [C] clear, kind of [Bb] arpeggiated sound.
You know, you get like a, [C] it's good for metal, good for rock, [D] good [Em] for everybody.
[D]
[G] [C] [G] [Am]
[Bm] [C] [G]
[Em] [G]
[C]
[Am]
[Em] [C] [G]
[Em]
So [D] now we come to the [Dm] gate.
It's all the way down right now.
This guy's awesome.
[Bb]
[E] Basically, [A] [E]
[G] [N] so it's not feeding back even too much right now, so [Abm] we'll crank it a little bit.
[E]
[Ab] [G] [E]
[Eb] [C] It's starting to get a little bit noisy here.
I mean, this thing's fucking [E] blasting.
Crank it maybe halfway,
[Ebm] [E] and you're pretty much good, and you still have a little, you
can still kind of hear the guitar.
It doesn't cut out all the way.
It's not squeezing it too much.
The [C] playability's good.
[Am]
[G] [E]
[Bm] [A] [N]
And I mean, if you go a little crazier, crank up the gain [Eb] and push it, [Gb] [B]
I [N] mean, you can go
to about three quarters, [E] [Am] [Cm]
[B] [E]
[D] and you're still good.
Also, we have for whatever kind of guitar you want to play and [Bb] send through here, we
have a focus knob, [C] which adjusts bottom [D] ends and EQs, and so you can kind of tighten it
[Bb] up or get a nice, full, [G]
sluggish, kind of sludgy [D] bottom end for [Bb] new metal type [G] stuff.
I mean, [Dm] you can run anything through [Bb] it.
I mean, seven-string [G] guitars, eight [D]-string guitars, and you can tighten it up [Gm] or loosen
it up depending [Dm] on your preference.
[Gm] So it's a pretty cool feature, I think.
Basically, [A] when you pull it out of [Bb] the box, [G] it's [Am] pretty much rip-roaring, ready to go,
[D] but [G] it's [Bb] very customizable.
[F] It's always [C] going to have a [D] very classic [Dm] sound and element to it.
But I mean, [Bb] these aren't [C] just there for show.
I mean, the [D] mids crank and get a really [B] nice [Bb] drop of mids and get a great [G] scoop, uber-metal
kind of feel to it.
[D] So I mean, it definitely runs the gamut of doing it without it ever encroaching upon
kind of a novelty sort of sound or sense at all, [E] which I think is really cool [D] and was
pretty [E] tough to ascertain, but we [Dm] worked through it and got it.
[E] So whatever your style, man, [D] it sounds great and [E] always retains that [A] really
to my new amp and show [Gb] you all the different possibilities, different tones, [D] all the different
applications and uses, and some bells and whistles and some stuff that you might not
find on your [Bb] everyday stack.
[G] [D] For the first channel, we're going to start with the one that I'm probably going to use
