Yes.
Artist or song?
Lady Gaga.
Oh boy.
Now she got some jazz but
I just don't know how
I sound with me singing it.
So by golly I started learning
a Lady Gaga song.
And I didn't know it, I had to get my friend to help me out.
And I get in there to my audition
for round two.
It's a little higher up
in the business, not quite the executives but
it's a little higher up.
And they let me,
they said, go ahead and sing a song.
So [G#m] I sang my Josh Turner, I sang my [F#] Frank Sinatra,
I sang a Jamie Johnson.
[C] They said, didn't we ask you to [N] learn a song?
I said, yeah.
I sang my John Mayer.
And they were smiling.
I thought they liked it.
But then they go and
they huddle up behind the table
and they come out of this huddle
and they're grinning.
Again.
This wasn't
the same grin.
This was evil.
Evil.
Not nice.
And they said, hey, you're supposed to be the prince.
I don't know if I did that right.
So did you, uh,
did you learn that group song we were going to talk about this morning?
I said, uh-huh.
They said, would you, uh,
do you mind singing it for us
for your audition?
I said, uh-huh.
So by [A#] golly,
I started singing the Lady Gaga song.
And they tell [F#] you when you start your audition [G] process,
they say the golden rule of audition
is don't stop singing.
Like [N] if you forget the words, make something up.
But if you stop, you'll get cut.
I [E] did not care.
I could not,
I couldn't go any [G] longer.
Halfway through the first verse, I stopped.
[N] And I said, listen, y'all,
this is not on my composition.
I don't know this song.
I'm sure I just sound like an idiot.
But, but,
I'll be honest with you, I am.
I'm just here to see Jennifer Lopez,
so if you want me to, I will.
Rah, rah, rah, ooh, rah, rah,
all you want, until as long as I can get to see Jennifer,
that's what it's all about.
You know what they said?
You know what they said?
Ah, [C#] country, boy, what's this mess?
We just wanted to hear you sing.
[N] Get through the next round.
Go ahead, go ahead.
Oh, cool, an unusual country.
That's what that means.
So I made it past round two.
Man, I did not think I'd be anywhere near here.
So round [F#] three comes up,
[F#m] it's the executive producers,
[N] and they let me through round three as well.
I don't know what's going on.
I was just back roasting.
And, uh, so we go home for a couple months,
come back in October 2010,
[E] [F#] and, uh,
[N] it was round four.
I got to see my baby.
You can Google the movie.
I'm here.
She's special.
She's special.
She's, uh, she smiled at me.
It was right before the second show.
After, uh,
[D] after that round, though,
[G#] singing for Steven Tyler, I ran in.
[A#] They let me through that [N] round as well.
Got to go to Hollywood.
I didn't like Hollywood, but I made it past that too.
I don't know how.
I don't know how.
So then I got on the live show,
and as far as I'm concerned, my, uh,
my work was done.
I sing anyways, whether it's in the shower
or I don't care.
I'm singing.
But at that point,
it was all up to y'all,
and, uh, since y'all broke,
they let me go all the way.
Thank you so much.
I'm really proud of the people that helped me.
I appreciate y'all.
Well, the reason I'm here,
I can't thank you enough.
I get to [F#] do what I [C#m] love, travel the country.
You get to travel the [G#] world
and sing country [E] music for America.
[N] I know.
I also get to write
my own stuff.
I get to write songs.
One of my favorite things to do.
Is it cool if I, uh,
is it cool if I try a song
out on y'all?
Is that what you said?
Y'all got to be sure you let me know
what you think afterwards, okay?
This is, uh, this is my favorite
song I have written in my 23 [D] years of life
on this earth.
Uh,
[A#] it's a song that I [N] think, uh,
everybody in here can relate to.
A song we all have those moments
and memories we wish we could go
back to and relive.
Not redo, but,
but relive.
For me, it's the,
it's the early days of
fishing with my boys.
It's, uh,
playing baseball.
It's playing high [G] school sports.
[F#] [N] But truthfully,
I, uh, really
I wrote this song two weeks after I lost my granddaddy Bill.
And, uh, I'll tell you what,
granddaddy Bill was the man.
He was the man.
He lived 86 years.
[Em] Up until his final days,
he was [B] still eating [G#] Oreos,
drinking Coca-Cola, and jumping off a
styling board in the pool.
He was a cool dude, I tell you.
He was a cool dude.
So listen, we all have those [G] moments.
So, uh, without further [C#] ado,
I hope y'all enjoy it.
Let us know what you think.
[D] The song's called Five Moments.
[N] [Em] [G]
[Em] [G] [C]
[Em] [G] We're eight years old,
a couple of pain holes,
sitting down by the creek.
[Em] Our lives in the wild,
watching those boulders,
seeing that red sunset.
Your [F#] mama's on the porch
yelling, [C] supper's not up.
[E] Y'all come and [C] get it.
[E] We have five
[G] [C] moments.
[D] Moments.
[G] It's sixteen,
it was twelve on three,
standing at her front door.
[Em] Katie's dad said,
midnight, but we needed
just a little more.
[C] The yellow light flipping
on and off, interrupting
that goodnight kiss.
[E] We wanted five [G] [C] moments.
[G] [C] The time
rolls by, the clock going
back, stop.
I wish I
[Am] had a few more [G] tries.
I wish there were [D] good [Em] times.
All the dangers [D] keep on
[C] flying right on [F#] by.
Like [C] it ain't nothing,
wish I had me a
perfect [E] moment like
[Am] those moments I [D] had.
[C] Give myself five
[D] [Em] moments.
[Bm] [G]
You're eighteen,
turn my helmet in,
walk [Em] to the freaking yard line.
If this is the coach
you need, after a week,
lost eighteen to nine.
And I [C] cry to man,
next time to get in here,
I'll have to buy
a chicken.
Can't [E] you give me five moments?
[C] The [G] more [C] moments in.
[G] [F#] The time rolls by, the clock
[C] going back, stop.
I wish I
had a few more [G] tries.
I wish there were good [Em] times.
All the dangers keep [Bm] on
flying [C] right on by.
Like it ain't nothing,
wish I [Am] had me a
perfect [E] moment like
those [D] moments I had.
[C] Give myself five [G] moments.
[Em]

it's [D] so light,
to leave you with
[C] a [F#] letter at [D] five.
[G] [C] Five
moments.
[Em] Five [E] moments.
[F#] Moments.

they said, go ahead and sing a song.
_ But then they go and
they huddle up behind the table
and they come out of this huddle
and they're grinning.
Again.
This wasn't
the same grin.
This was evil.
_ Evil.
Not nice. _
And they said, hey, you're supposed to be the prince.
I don't know if I did that right.
So did you, uh,
did you learn that group song we were going to talk about this morning?
I said, uh-huh.
_ _ They said, would you, uh,
do you mind singing it for us
for your audition?
_ I said, uh-huh.
_ So by [A#] golly,
I started singing the Lady Gaga song.
You know what they said?
You know what they said?
Ah, [C#] country, boy, what's this mess?
We just wanted to hear you sing.
[N] Get through the next round.
Go ahead, go ahead. _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ Oh, cool, an unusual country.
_ _ _ You can Google the movie.
I'm here. _
_ _ _ _ _ Well, the reason I'm here,
I can't thank you enough.
I get to [F#] do what I [C#m] love, travel the country.
You get to travel the [G#] world
and sing country [E] music for America.
[N] I know.
I also get to write
my own stuff.
I get to write songs.
One of my favorite things to do.
Is it cool if I, uh,
is it cool if I try a song
out on y'all?
Is that what you said? _ _ _ _ _
Y'all got to be sure you let me know
what you think afterwards, okay?
This is, uh, this is my favorite
song I have written in my 23 [D] years of life
on this earth.
Uh,
[A#] it's a song that I [N] think, uh,
everybody in here can relate to.
A song we all have those moments
and memories we wish we could go
back to and relive.
Not redo, but,
but relive.
For me, it's the,
it's the early days of
fishing with my boys.
It's, uh,
playing baseball.
It's playing high [G] school sports.
[F#] _ [N] But truthfully,
I, uh, really
I wrote this song two weeks after I lost my granddaddy Bill.
And, uh, I'll tell you what,
granddaddy Bill was the man.
He was the man.
He lived 86 years.
[Em] Up until his final days,
he was [B] still eating [G#] Oreos,
drinking Coca-Cola, and jumping off a
styling board in the pool.
He was a cool dude, I tell you.
He was a cool dude.
So listen, we all have those [G] moments.
So, uh, without further [C#] ado,
I hope y'all enjoy it.
Let us know what you think.
[D] The song's called Five Moments.
[N] _ _ _ [Em] _ _ _ _ [G] _
_ _ _ [Em] _ _ _ [G] _ [C] _
_ [Em] _ _ [G] We're eight years old,
a couple of pain holes,
sitting down by the creek.
[Em] Our lives in the wild,
watching those boulders,
seeing that red sunset.
Your [F#] mama's on the porch
yelling, [C] supper's not up.
[E] Y'all come and [C] get it.
[E] We have five
[G] _ _ [C] moments.
[D] Moments.
[G] It's sixteen,
it was twelve on three,
standing at her front door.
[Em] Katie's dad said,
midnight, but we needed
just a little more.
[C] The yellow light flipping
on and off, interrupting
that goodnight kiss.
[E] We wanted five [G] _ [C] moments.
_ _ [G] [C] The time
rolls by, the clock going
back, stop.
I wish I
[Am] had a few more [G] tries.
I wish there were [D] good [Em] times.
All the dangers [D] keep on
[C] flying right on [F#] by.
Like [C] it ain't nothing,
wish I had me a
perfect [E] moment like
[Am] those moments I [D] had.
[C] Give myself five
_ [D] _ [Em] moments.
_ [Bm] _ [G] _ _ _ _
You're eighteen,
turn my helmet in,
walk [Em] to the freaking yard line.
If this is the coach
you need, after a week,
lost eighteen to nine.
And I [C] cry to man,
next time to get in here,
I'll have to buy
a chicken.
Can't [E] you give me five moments?
[C] The [G] more [C] moments in.
_ [G] [F#] The time rolls by, the clock
[C] going back, stop.
I wish I
had a few more [G] tries.
I wish there were good [Em] times.
All the dangers keep [Bm] on
flying [C] right on by.
Like it ain't nothing,
wish I [Am] had me a
perfect [E] moment like
those [D] moments I had.
[C] Give myself five [G] _ _ moments.
_ _ [Em] _
_ _ _ _ [D] _ _ [G] _ [C] _
_ _ _ [G] _ _ You're
eighteen, turn my _ _ [Em] _ _ _ _
_ helmet in,
walk to the freaking yard line.
[C] If this is the coach
you need, _ _ after a week,
And I cry to man,
next time to get [E] _ in here,
I'll have to buy five [G] moments?
The more [C] moments in.
The time rolls [F#] by, the clock
going back, stop.
[C] I wish I
had a few more [G] tries.
I wish there were good times.
All the dangers keep on
[C] flying right on by.
Like it ain't nothing,
I wish I had me
a perfect [Em] moment like
[D] those moments I [C] had.
Yeah, [Em] sometimes
it's [D] so light,
to leave you with
[C] a [F#] letter at [D] five. _ _
[G] _ _ _ _ [C] _ Five
moments. _
[Em] Five _ _ _ [E] moments. _
[F#] _ Moments.
[C] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [N] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
