[N] [B] Hey, it's Shane [D] check this out.
This is a [Bb] three-string cigar box guitar
[B] made by Darren Brown
Nova Scotia and [Ab] it's DB customs [Db] guitars
This thing is [Dbm] absolutely beautiful, and he [Bb] did a relic paint [B] job on it to make it look like [Bbm] it's been through hell and back
[Eb] I
[G] Want to come [Abm] at you with [Gb] a different three-string tuning [Db] something that can spice up [D] your playing though [C] this tuning can be [Bb] used in both
[E] Threaded cigar [Fm] box guitar and [B] [Eb] fretless played with the slide you do [A] have your 3 quarter inch socket on you
[C] Don't you [Bb] get ready for a stubby [Ab] slide [E] action?
[Gb] Okay, [Bbm] so what you want to do is you want to string your [Eb] guitar with an [Ebm] a string from a [Cm] pack of guitar strings?
[C] The middle one is [Ab] a G string [G] and the last [Abm] one is a high B string
so a
[E] G and B strings from a pack of [B] guitar [Db] strings now.
Here's how you want to tune [G] them
[D] Turn us up a little [Gb] the first one [G] is G
Second one is another G an octave above
The third one [B] is a B
Now this is C6 [Fm] Steve's tuning for his three-string trance [Db] wonder guitar
You can look up the history and he talks about
How [D] it came about you know playing [B] this beat-up old guitar with only three [A] strings on it
But I thought [Db] that the tuning was a little [D] unusual because it's not [Abm] the usual power [D] cord that you know a [Db] lot of us
Will tune our [A] cigar box guitars [Db] to because usually we do like a GDG [Bb] [D] or something, but this is [G] different
[C]
[Gm]
[Bb] [G] [C]
[Eb] The [E] great thing about this tuning [Ab] is is that high B string?
[Cm]
[Gb] Sounds [G] killer [Db] when you have a crank [Bb] through distortion
[G] [Gm]
[C] [Gm]
[G]
Like what C6 Steve would do [Bb] on this [Eb] guitar
Or with his three strings [Cm] he [G] he has some [Bb] really simple [G] riffs that if [Ab] you break them on down
You [Gm] could play him as well
In [G] his song cut my wings he sort of does this thing where he puts his [Gb] finger on
[G]
The high [F] string fifth [Eb] fret and he bends it up
[F] So he bends it up half a step to go to that [E] note there he goes
[F]
[Bbm] He's [Fm] so he and [Eb] then he pulls it [F] off
[Em] [G] [D]
Just like [G] that and then he does a [C] pull-off
[G] second string third fret
And then [Bb] the same thing on the low string [A] pull [Bb] off from the third fret
[G] so
[Gm] And [G] [Cm] [G] [Gm]
[G]
he takes it to the fifth [C] fret
It puts his pinky [E] on at the [Eb] eighth fret [C] high string
[G]
[Gm] [G] [C]
[G]
[D] [C]
[G] [Gm] [G]
So
There you go
[C] [Eb] [G]
And one more little quick secret
I use [F] this tuning in concert to [Gb] freak out my audiences [G] one of my cover tunes that I [Em] do is Led Zeppelin's Dancing [G] Days
