I [Bm] write because there's some [F#] obsession that I have.
[B] It isn't rational.
It isn't like, I don't know [F#] why I do it.
I could [C#] tell you why I've
[E] done a lot of other things in my life.
[F#m] I could tell you why I'm here, [F#] I guess, because [E] [C#]
[D] it's a [F#] job or something.
Writing is not, there's no rational, [F#] there's no good reason to do it.
[Em] [C] [G]
[B] [C]
[G] [B]
[C] [G] I was more of [A] like a sulker.
I just like to go, I was more into sulking.
[D] And yeah, that [A] was my favorite activity as a kid.
Yeah.
[E] Yeah.
Mockery, [A] sulking and mockery.
Those were my, those were really in my wheelhouse.
[F]
[A] There weren't, man, it [C] really was, I'm like kind of a first thought, best [A] thought person creatively.
It was really kind of the first [G] thing.
[A] There was, it [E] was really between that or Jay [A] Tillman, you know, honestly.
[C] [A] But I didn't consider many other names because it wasn't important, really.
You know, it was like kind of the least important element of the whole [E] thing.
So it's kind of the first thing that [Am] came out of my mouth.
It was the [A] first thing that came out of my [Am] mouth and all my friends were like, oh no, no, [D#] no.
[Dm] But everything [Gm] is fine.
[F] Don't give in to [D#] despair.
Because [D] I love you, I [A#] care.
[Dm] [A] Well, I'm [E] just doing a solo tour.
And [A] so I'll probably be playing a lot of new material.
Which, you know, I haven't done because [E] there's this [A] consideration you have to take into account,
which is that everybody [G] is [A] filming and, you know, but if that's the world people want to live in,
[G] if they want to hear [A]
shitty versions [G] of new music [A] [G] for months and months [A] before they hear the recorded version,
then I just have to, I'm willing to accept that reality.
And [G] I'll probably just play [A] as much new [G] stuff as I can.
[A] [G] Because that is [A] kind of relevant to me at this point.
Let's [G] stop [A] shit about new shit being [Fm] better and whatever.
[F] Yeah, [G] I mean it's called Innocence.
[A] It's for young girls.
[E] It's just a thing, it smells, I'm [Am] really proud of it.
Like it smells [C] really beautiful.
[F] It's done in a sense of play.
[Fm]
Hard as people may find this to believe, it's not an exercise in [F] irony.
[D#] And yeah, [A#] I just, I like [E] making beautiful things, you know.
And it [C] was something that [D#] I hadn't, it was so left [C#] field, or so kind of [A#] outside my creative lexicon,
that I couldn't resist.
[E] But yeah, I think it's a really beautiful thing.
And that is something more so than music or anything else I do,
where it is just intended to make the person feel good.
That is my [A] only intention, is to give someone something beautiful.
With music, writing, it's all very complex, you know, it's [Em] fucked up.
And with something like perfume, it's just very simple.
[E] It's a very simple, beautiful little doodad, you know.
[A]
[B] [D] [F#m]
[E] [A] [D]
[B] [D] Jesus Christ, [F#] girl, what a [A] beautiful little [F#m] thing.
[G] I do enjoy that about [G#] festivals, in that [F] everyone's not necessarily on board.
[C] And so there are definitely [G] people who [D#] are still, there's still the [F] possibility of,
[C] kind [G] of, I [G#] don't [F] know, talking with [C] people.
