I joined a jazz band called Yellow Jackets in 1987, and around that same time there was
a drum kit from Pearl called the Session Series.
[Eb] It was [E] actually the first drum kit I ordered from Pearl. _
I played it and loved it and found my voice and sound through it for many years. _
Now Session Studio Classic has returned, and it's a beautiful thing, a harmonious thing.
The legacy continues.
I have my sound, I have my voice, and it's a character of sound that comes through this
drum kit very easily and a joy to play. _ _
_ _ Session Studio Classic snare drums feature Super Hoop 2 hoops, which give them outstanding
cross-stakes and rim shots.
And with the Yellow Jackets, I'm required to play at a variety of different dynamic
levels, and a snare drum like this is very easy.

_ My first impressions of the kit are just love.
_ I love the kit.
When a drum kit [F] speaks to you, energy just comes back to you tenfold and you feel it
in your body center.
And I got that instant.
Little tweaks here and there, positioning, [Gm] configuration, took no time.
And it was my sound, my voice.
I say that in [F] clinic a lot.
Each musician has a character of sound that is him, that is that individual.
I'm left-handed, but technically right-footed, so I'm playing a right-handed setup [D] with the
right cymbal on the left side.
[F] And when you have an [N] instrument, a tool like this drum kit, the Session Studio Classic,
it becomes transparent.
It's something that makes it easy and inspiring to get your voice and your sound through. _ _
