Mattel Electronics presents Sean Spins!
[B] [C] Good evening ladies and gentlemen and [F] welcome to the [E] Mahoning Drive-In Theater, the largest
single screen drive-in in the United States.
We're certainly glad you could be with us this evening.
Don't [Am] forget the concession stand is open with all kinds of great things to eat and drink.
[A#] [F] Welcome [N] back to Sean Spins.
This is episode 43.
I'm your host Sean and I hope everyone is safe and well.
We have a great band for today.
Probably one of my favorite bands I've discovered this year.
Lost Cat.
Let's get started.
I think the internet's out again.
I wonder how many people right now are refreshing the screen or thinking it's Sean Spins at it again.
Well, the band for today for episode 43 is Lost Cat.
It's a great band.
I discovered them this year.
Three piece band.
Kiki, Yaz, and Kelly.
Great band.
The way I discovered them, I was on the website for Altro Records and I was looking at some
releases for Richie Ramone.
And then I was seeing other things and I came across this band, Lost Cat.
Somehow I got onto another label, Lollipop Records, and they had the cassette.
And here it is right here.
Self-titled cassette.
Altro Records had a single.
Now apparently Altro Records has this self-titled release as a vinyl release.
This is a great album.
Just great.
As I said, three piece band.
Now the design and packaging is pretty simple for this.
Nothing fancy to write home to.
Definitely not a 4AD release.
Very, very simple.
And it almost looks like a photocopy.
Yet the music inside is what makes it.
Some of it is punk rock.
Goes into a garage style.
And you also have kind of like a surf style in it.
There's part of it that has like this tremolo vibrato effect to it.
It's just beautiful.
Now the album, like I said, it has different sounds to it.
And it takes you on this ride of sound.
Because it starts off very punk rockish, then it gets kind of garage-y surf.
And it goes through these movements.
It's great.
Not a lot of information out there about the band.
And I wanted to do a video about it because I got the tape, I'm going to say about two
three months ago and I've been enjoying it.
Now that I know there's a vinyl release too, I'm going to go probably get that also.
I highly recommend the tape.
I really do.
I don't think there's a song on here that I didn't like.
It just sounds great.
I'm wondering if the vinyl is going to sound a little different than the tape.
The tape definitely has, I don't want to use the word muddy, yet kind of like, I guess
that's the word I'm going to have to use.
More of a muddy, kind of grungier sound.
So I'm wondering if the vinyl sounds any different.
If it's going to sound brighter or how it's going to sound.
Yet, it's great.
My favorite song probably on it, it's a track called Babes in Black.
The beginning of it has just this amazing tone to it.

I'll put some links down [G] below for like, outro records, lollipop [N] records, and the band's website.
I highly recommend checking out Lost Cat.
They have a few really neat videos for their songs on YouTube also.
As I said, it's been a while since a new band has gotten me really excited about sound.
Lost Cat definitely did that this year.
So I recommend it.
Well, until next time, I hope everybody is well and be nice to each other and take care.
