_ _ _ guys, so welcome to the Simple Minds tour diary and today is the first [G] day of rehearsals
so I'm going to take you around with us and show [Bb] you the studio and you can see what we get up to. _ _ _ _

I'm now going to talk to [D] Jed, Jed Grimes as you may know him, the bass player [Dm] extraordinaire.
Well, when I started with [F] the Simple Minds I had two effects pedals.
An assortment [Bb] of things, vintage flangers, _ valve reverbs, nice dark glass compressors.
And what is your favourite song to play on the tour?
I think Festive [Am] Discoveries. _ _

_ _ _ how has it been rehearsing this new album and how have you found it compared to the other albums?
[Dm] _ I don't think we've ever rehearsed as much, I mean we needed to rehearse more this time
because obviously you were line up, I mean of course you've been there since the acoustic and all that
but this was new songs and _ [F] playing electric again and also Charlie much more keyboards
[Bb] and _ so we needed to go in deep, almost [F] needed to reinvent and I shouldn't say I've been doing that,
but years ago I've been doing that really, _ _ in the last year, for a few weeks here now.
I don't think we've ever quite [G] rehearsed as much and it's [Bb] paid dividends because it just sounds great.

_ _ _ _ [Dm] _ So how have you found playing the new [F] album?
Really great [Bb] because, and I mean this, because with the drums and all, you got it so,
[Dm] because it's tricky, there's so many great sounds [F] on the drums and you manage to incorporate [Bb] all that
which gave us, it really did give us such a head start and then, yeah, the [F] same, I mean there's a lot of guitar on it
[Dm] so it's a really meaty album for [F] me to get into and it's a really enjoyable [Bb] record.

[Dm] So I'm just walking down the corridor [Am] to our tea room and I think the vocalists and [Bb] singers are practicing.
_ [Dm] Let's go check it out.

_ _ _ So what does [F] it
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[G] _ _ _ _ [Bb] _ _ _ _
[Bb] _ _ _ _ [F] _ _ _ _

[F] _ mean, sort of, you know, getting [Bb] the vocals together for this?
It's been a slight challenge because there's a lot more vocals on this album [F] than the past albums,
but [Dm] we're doing it.
Aude's a fantastic singer, [F] Jed is a lovely singer, Catherine's also [Bb] a great singer.
So the challenge has really been to [F] get our voices to blend together.
Jed's [Dm] playing and singing, Aude's playing and singing, so that's always a [F] challenge.
So my concern is that we all come [Bb] together and blend really well.
And I think [F] you guys will agree, Barrowlands sounds amazing, [Dm] Sikki and Lloyd sounds fantastic.
It's going to be incredible.
[Am] The vocals are really coming together nicely.
