[Bb]
I think [Eb] every kid who joins a rock and roll band [Gm] wishes they could play at Wembley Stadium.
[Bb] [G]
[Gm] It might be empty now, but tomorrow [F] night 75,000 people are going [G] to come to the biggest stadium in Britain to see the most awesome rock and roll band in the [Ab] world.
They're coming to see Simple [Bb] Minds.
[Gm]
[Fm] [Bb]
[Ab] [Bb] [Gm]
[Ab] [Bb] The name of our band is Simple Minds.
We're the artists against apartheid.
Are you ready?
[D]
It's the zenith of playing live, isn't it?
To be able to sell out Wembley Stadium.
Because it is awesomely big.
What is it, 75,000 or something?
I mean, how do you practice for a gig like this?
[D]
[A]
Three or five years.
That's the first studio album in three years.
As we [D] speak, we are going into the 90s and we wanted to show that our band [Gbm] was very much alive creatively.
[Dbm] And whether people liked the new change [Gb] or not, it was important that there was a change.
And that we weren't just [D] treading out the same format as we were three years ago.
So we had hoped for that.
And then going back [Gb] again, as I was saying, if there was any sort of a conceptual side, it [Am] was to be an album with a realistic bent to it.
One, two, one, two, three, four.
The Oboe Sam, is that a happy memory of all those [Gm] ten years?
Yeah, [D] I think I can still see traces from ten years ago.
The axis is obviously MacNeil and Burchill.
[Db] And they [G] create that big, big sound.
It's an organic big sound, you know.
[D] God gave us a large canvas and we use it.
What are we meant to do?
Suppress it.
You're going to Sweden in [D] November.
[Dm] We've always had a [Em] strong bond [E] with Australia.
And right back to the fact that, [C] and I keep telling them this because it's true, they were the first country to give [B] us a gold disc.
The [D] fact that it has been three years since we last toured, we've got the hunger for it again.
And we're keen.
[E] We've got an album that we're not only pleased with, but we're actually rather proud of this album.
Pride isn't a [D] word that I use a lot.
[G] And [D] we have to get down there and [G] turn it on.
