Hey everyone, Carson McKee here from a park in Crown Heights.
I hope you're all as safe and sane and well as you can be during this time.
This tune is
something that's been sort of bouncing around in my head a lot the past couple of days.
I covered it for my channel 9, 10, however many years ago,
and I'm not sure if it's because my own life has taken a couple simple twists of fate since that time,
but I just couldn't get it out of my brain, and so I figured,
hey, why not present the fine folks of YouTube with a like 10-year comparison video?
So this is one of my all-time favorite songs to play.
It's Simple Twists of Fate by Bob Dylan.
[Eb]
[Ab]
[Eb] [Abm]
[Eb]
[F] [Eb]
[Fm] [Eb]
They sat together in the park
[Gm]
[Eb] As the evening sky grew dark
She looked at him and he [Eb] felt a spark
[Ab] Tangle to his bones
T [Abm]
'was then he felt alone
And [Eb]
wished that he'd gone [Ab] straight
[Eb] and
watched out for [Ab] that
simple twist [Eb] of fate
[Ab] [Eb]
[F] [Eb] They walked along by the old canal
[Gm] A [Eb] little confused I remember well and they stopped
[Abm] Into a strange [C] hotel with the [Ab] neon
Burning bright
[Abm] Felt the heat of that night
It [Eb] hit [Gm] on like a [Eb] freight
train
[Eb]
moving with [Ab] a simple twist [Eb] of fate [Ab] [Eb]
[F] [Eb]
[Ab] [Eb] a
saxophone someplace a far-off place
She was walking on by the arcade and a light was through a beat-up shade
Where [Ab] he was waking up
She [Abm] tossed a coin into the cup of a [Eb] blind man at the gate
Forgot about [Ab] a
simple twist of fate
[Ab] [Eb]
[F] [Eb]
He woke up the room was bare
He didn't see her
anywhere
He told himself he just didn't care through [Ab] the window
open wide
Felt [Abm] that emptiness inside
To which [Eb] he's just could not relate
Brought on [Ab] by a
simple twist [Eb] in fate
[Ab] [Eb]
[Fm] [Eb]
He hears the ticking
of the clock
Walks along through the city blocks and he hunts it down by the waterfront
docks where [Ab] the sailors all come
Perhaps [Abm]
she'll pick him out again
[Eb] But how long?
Must [Ab] he wait?
[Eb]
One more time [Ab] for that simple twist [Eb] of fate
[F]
[Eb] [F] [Eb]
Some people tell me it's a [Gm] sin
To know and feel too much within [Eb] well, I always felt she was my [Ab] twin
But I lost the ring
[Abm] She was born in spring
[Eb] And I was born [Ab] too late
[Eb] Blame it on [Ab] a
Simple twist [Eb] of fate
[Eb] blame it on [Ab] a simple twist [Eb] of fate
[Ab]
[Eb] She was born [Ab] too late
Blame it on [Ab] a simple twist of [Eb] fate
