[B] Hello, [Gb] this is Jason from Sleaford Mods [N] and this is what's in my bag at home.
_ Well, as you can see, they're singles, 7-inch singles.
These are my daughters.
_ _ And we tend to buy a record every now and again just to help fill it up and give her a little bit of an education.
_ You know, and directed towards some decent artists, classic and, you know, sort of contemporary.
_ [A] The first one I'm going to start with is the Prettyettes, which this is [E] just a tune.
[A] This is boys that I dated in high school.
Just a beautiful attack on the male species, _ _ _ [E]
which, you know, we need more of, obviously.
_ _ [D] But yeah, this is a great song [A] and happens to be my [G] daughter's favorites as well as my son's as well.
And they both know [C] the chorus [F] of Bio.
[Em] _ [G] _ _ Second [C] is _ _ [G] _ _ _ Carly Simon, You're So Vain.
[Am] Again, you know, there's a thread here, you know, having another go at the male species and quite rightly so.
[G] Another favorite of my daughter's, obviously a classical song.
_ _ [A] And yeah, just brilliant.
[C] Yeah, we love it. _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ No record box would be complete without the disco classic I Feel [N] Loved by Donna Summer.
The intro alone [Ebm] is stuff made of, I don't know, it's just heaven [Gb] sent [Ebm] really, isn't it?
_ [N] We all like grooving to this one.
[C] Grooving.
It's a beautiful song, obviously.
_ Never gets old.
[Eb] _
Yeah, [F] brilliant.
_ _ _ [G] _ _
_ _ Talking Heads, Once in a Lifetime.
[Gm]
Obvious choice by the by the great band, you might say.
But no, not really.
No, not when you're introducing them to a seven [D] year old.
So, yeah, you know, stuff like this I was never exposed to as [G] a kid. _
_ And, you know, as I've gotten [D] older, _
[Gm] stuff like Talking Heads, blah, blah, blah.
All these kind of left of left of center bands _ have started to [D] make a big impact on me.
So it's important to introduce [G] these to the young [D] ones, so to speak.
_ Classic track, but again, completely still found stuff still sounds like it was written today. _
_ And _ last but no, by no [Gm] means least is Laid [N] Back and White Horse.
This is a proper tune, a bit of an underground disco thing, really, or not at the time. _ _
It was placed high in the Billboard charts in the States, but over here, relatively unknown in a lot of respect.
But this tune gets everything going.
We get the party pumping with this tune.
So, yeah, these are [Am] records that, you know, [N] we've given to our daughter _ and made her singles collection far more interesting than mine.
_ _ And whilst we're on the subject, you can buy our new release, All That Glue _ _ _ _ from Amoeba Records.
_ Support your independence.
_ [Eb] _ _
