[Am] Hi, I'm [A] Mike Haddock and this is the song Sleepwalk.
[G] It always works no matter whether you're playing it in front of 20 year olds or 90 years old.
I'm still playing it today.
So the first thing I want to do is just show you the way we play it in a band and this
was at a wedding right [N] when we were having a sound check.
I'm going to play it and if you like what you're seeing then I'm going to show you how
to play it right after that.

[Am] [F] [G]
[C] [Am] [F] [A]
[C] [Am] [F] [G]
[Em] [Am] [F] [G]
[C] [Am] [D]
[C] [Am] [G]
[C] [Am] [F]
[C] [F] [G]
[C] [Am] [F] [C]
[Am] [C]
[Am] [F] [C]
[F] [C] [F]
[Fm] [C]
[Dm]
[D] [Fm] [G] [Bb]
[G] [C] [Am]
[D] [C] [Am]
[F] [D] [C] [G]
[Em] [C]
So the first thing I do is when I'm playing with a band as I started out, [Am] because I want
[F] them to follow my [G] lead and my timing.
[C] [Am] That's C, [F] A minor, F and G.
[B]
[Em] [C] What I do is I come down here and I [G] go on my second string G, [D] second [B] string A, first
string E [Em] and first string B.
And then I put this little C major 7 chord in which would be here.
[C] [Bm] That's 1B, [G] 2G, [Em]
3E and 4C.
Then I run it down again.
Then I go to my [F] F and my [G] G.
[A] And the second thing again.
[Em] [B] [F]
[A] Then I start out with my [C] C, [Am] A minor, [F] F [D] and I go here.
That's second string D, second [Ebm] string D sharp, second [D] string C, D and then [C] back to your C second string. And again.
[Am] [Dm]
[D] And then I come and I [E] do this.
First string open, first [G] string G, first [E] string open and then second [C] string C and hit my A minor [Am] chord.
[F] F.
[A] This is a C [Em] major 7.
So that's second string right here is E, third string is B, fourth string is G.
And then [C] my C.
So it would sound like this.
[Am] [C]
[Am] [Dm] [G]
[Am] [F] [Em]
[C] [F] [C] And then for the middle I go to my F.
[Dm] [F] Right there which would be this chord.
My F.
I'm just hitting these two notes.
Then I go [Dm] to my E on the first [Em] string, D on my first string, [C] C on my first string and
then I go to my two F minor notes.
[Eb]
Which would be [G] second string [Eb] right here is A flat and [Fm] third string is F which is actually
this chord right here.
So it would sound like [A] this.
Where are [C] we at here?
[A] Now on our F.
[Dm] [Ab]
[C] Then I go to my C.
All the way up here to my D sharp.
[D] D.
[Db] [C] Then [Dm] I do it again.
[D] [Fm] [D] Come to my [G] G, [Bm] A [Bb] sharp, [G] G.
And this is an augmented [D] chord like that.
So that would be first string F sharp, second string C and third string B flat.
[C] And then do the whole thing over again.
So that's basically the whole [A] song.
I really simplified it because [Eb] I'm a stonemason.
My fingers are getting hard.
I used to do the middle this [Dm] way.
[Fm] I can't do it no more.
[C] It's more [Em] jazzy that way.
So I simplified [E] it.
[Fm] [C] [Db]
[C] So I hope you like it and got something out of that.
