_ Anybody [Ebm] that believes it's already done, I [A] dare you to praise him in [Db] advance. _ _ _ _ _
_ [Ab] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
I was 10 years old _ and _ _ _ a lady named Cordelia Bennett, _ she _ _ _ [C] took an interest in me, my gift,
my ministry, and literally said, I want to invest in this child.
And she spent some time with me, you know, teaching me some songs _ and giving me some
piano lessons and some voice lessons.
_ _ _ _ _ She recorded me at the age of 10 on my first album.
_ Yeah, I remember the most embarrassing thing about that first album is besides the fact
that _ _ I had on one of those first album suits.
_ _ [G] _ _ _ _ _
_ You know, the kind _ that shine automatically, you know. _ _ _
Little kid with a little handkerchief, you know.
I know _ somebody's gotta relate to this.
You know, the lining of the pocket was the handkerchief. _ _ _ _
You pull it up and that's your handkerchief, you know.
So I mean, wow.
And I look at the shoes that I had on and I'm like, [N] oh my God, my mother and father
didn't do me like this.
I know.
But you know, hey, it was the first album.
And at that time, you know, you couldn't have told us anything.
I was the sharpest, cutest little singing boy on the planet, you know.
_ But I think the most embarrassing thing about that is that I was in the third grade.
_ I believe it was the third or fourth grade.
Where are you when you're 10?
_ Fourth grade.
_ Whatever grade I was in.
I was in elementary school, grade school.
_ And _ I was sitting in class and the teacher who I had was so proud of me that she _ bought my album.
She took it to the office _ and she says, we got to play this. _ _ _ _
And _ _ all of a sudden, on the loudspeaker on the intercom in the whole school, _ here I am
singing Amazing Grace. _ _
_ And all the kids are looking like, who is this?
What is this?
What is this?
You know, they're just like, what in the world?
_ They couldn't believe it.
And so when they announced who it was, by that time I was already all the way under my desk.
So _ _ they kind of figured it out. _ _ _ _
