I finally watched it.
So go check it out on the Movie Reaction channel.
Rob's got movie reactions, but we got to get the people what they want.
Y'all wanted The Sticks, best of times.
Let's check it out. _
_ [C] _ Tonight's the [D] night we'll make history.
_ [G] Straight from the jump like [F] Elton John.
_ [C] I'll _ _ [F] _ take any risk [E] to tie back the [F] hands of time.
_ [G] Stay with you here [Am] tonight.
_ [A] _ _
_ _ [A] _ _ [Am] _ _ [A] _ _
[Am] _ _ _ _ I know you feel these [D] are the worst of [G] times.
I do [B] believe [C] it's true.
When [F] _
people lock that door and [G] hide [F] inside.
Rumor has it it's [Am] the end of their [E] lives.
[Am] But I know [G#] if the [C] world just passed us [F#] by.
Baby, [F] I know I wouldn't [G] have to cry.
No, no.
[C] _ _ _ [C] _ Melodies. _ _
And I [Am] will [G] give you [C] some rain, some _ shine. _
_ _ _ [Am] It's a world [G] for two.
[F] _ [Em] Memories of [Dm] yesterday will [G] last a lifetime.
_ _ [F] We'll [Em] take the best, forget [Dm] the rest.
And someday we'll find.
[G] _ _ [C] These are the best.
I know. _ _ _ _
These are the best.
[F] I'm right.
_ [E] _ _ [Am] _ _
_ [E] Oh yeah.
_ _ [Am] _ _
_ _ [E] _ _ _ _ [F] _ _
[C] _ _ [D] _ _ [G] _ _ [F] _ _
[C] _ _ [Dm] _ _ [F] _ _ [Dm] _ _
_ [D] _ _ [Am] _ _ _ _
Ooh.
[A] You sound that one's [Am] making.
_ [A] _ _ [Am] _
_ _ [G] _ _ [Am] The headlines read, these are [D] the worst of times.
And I'll rewind it, but this, like Dennis's voice in this one, like as soon as it came in, I was like, that's like Elton John style.
Because as soon as it started, boom, came with piano and vocals right off the bat.
I think that like you have to have a certain type of voice to really go play along so well with the pianos.
And when we talk about great pianists, I want us to never forget Dennis Day Young.
We talked about Elton [N] John.
We talked about Billy Joel.
You know, I want to talk about the woman from Go-Go's.
We can never forget to put him in that category because he's absolutely fantastic.
But this one and his voice, I'm absolutely falling in love with.
But I also love the backing vocals when they all come in together.
It's like a big, bright moment.
But the backing vocals with his amazing vocals, it's really shining in this song.
And to me, you get in this one, you get that kind of higher pitch, but it's also got that cleanliness and still that richness to it.
It's very clean.
Even though it is still high.
And then you come in with that guy.
It gives me Miami Vice type sounds with his guitar.
Almost a mysterious kind of sound.
And that's the thing is the guitar has that feeling.
Of course we have those bright moments and the guitar had that mysterious feeling.
But also when they drop down to just him playing the piano for a moment and where it feels kind of just solemn for a second.
Oh, that's also really, really nice.
But mysterious, solemn moment.
I love it because it's so well matched with the other bright spots in the song.
And they started without lights just on him.
And as it got, the light kind of got bigger and more of the band members started coming out.
Let's get back.
[F] _ _ [Am] _ _ _ _
[D] _ _ _ _ [G] _ _ _ [F] _
_ [C] _ _ _ _ [F] _ _ [C] _
_ _ [F] _ _ [Gm] _ _ [F] I wish [G] the summer wind [Am] could bring back [E] paradise.
[Am] But I know [G#] _ [C] if the world turned [F#] upside down, [F] baby, I know _ [Dm] you'd always be [G] around my, [C] my, my.
_ _ [F] _ _ _ [C] _ _ _
_ [Am] I'm alone [G] with you.
[C] _ _
_ Sunshine. _ _ _ _
We'll make [Am] this a world [G] for each.
[C] When I'm alone _ _ [F] _ _ [C] _ _ _ _
_ _ [Am] with [G] you.
[C] When I'm alone with you.
_ _ [C] _ _ _ _
_ _ [Am] _ _ [G] _ _ [C] _ _
[N] _ There's just so many good parts about that.
You could talk about Dennis' voice.
Where they all come in together with those harmonies.
To me, it gives it that magical kind of feeling.
And then, like I said, the undertone to that song, there were parts where it got bright.
And then it got kind of mysterious and dark like during that guitar solo.
But overall, I thought it was really cool.
And I want to know, how was Dude making the alien sounds?
We know that they got into that in their career with that one song.
I thought you had to have a talk box to make that type of sound.
I didn't know you could do it straight through the keyboard and the microphone.
It was definitely a cool kind of outer space aspect they added into it.
Yeah, I like how with the best of times and the worst of times, it matched the brightness.
The best of times when he talked about that was with, he was alone with her, was the bright parts.
The worst of times, the state he thought the world was in, that was like the solemn parts that we seem to notice in the song.
So I like how they added that.
But also, guys, we talked about great pianists.
And I feel like I just kind of opened this like big place in my brain.
I'm like, wait, we're probably missing so many.
Because right there, I was like, Billy Preston, like we didn't even add him into it.
So I'm wondering how many pianists we're sitting here, we're just honestly not thinking of.
Because we've never, you know, we've never thought about it before.
But he was fantastic.
His voice was great.
And we need, maybe you guys can help us out.
What are some other great pianists we've listened to that maybe we're just not at the forefront of our mind at the moment?
Drop it down in the comments.
But guys, that's going to be the end of today's video.
As we always send you out of here every single day.
We love you.
We thank you.
We appreciate you.
And remember every single time that you wake up, it is a blessing and that you are blessed.
