Hello, thank you for watching.
This is Jason Forbes here.
Yes, I have some messages [F]
asking me to make this tutorial about how to play the song Jehovah Is Your Name.
So, what I'm going to show you this round is the left hand part.
So, for the left hand, let's play the F major chord.
So, this is F major.
Some of you may know if you've played piano before.
F, A, and C.
F major chord.
And then the next one is A [Am] minor.
Just [F] shift down from F two steps.
A minor.
And then [Dm] D minor.
Still the same position.
D, F, and A.
[Bb] And then a B flat chord.
Which is B flat, D, and F.
Yeah?
This is B flat major chord.
What you're going to do is just count in four counts to each chord.
[Db] So, we have from the beginning.
[F] 1, 2, 3, 4.
1, 2, 3, [Dm] 4.
1, 2, [Bb] 3, 4.
1, 2, 3, 4.
And then [F] repeat again.
2, 3, [F] 4.
2, 3, [Dm] 4.
1, 2, 3, [Bb] 4.
1, 2, 3, 4.
And then we come to the part [G] of the pre-chorus.
Where Arnold and Raprow.
So, it uses the G minor chord.
[Gm] G, B flat, and D.
This goes by four counts and you do it twice.
So, it's 1, 2, 3, 4.
1, 2, 3, 4.
And then we have E flat.
[Eb] Major chord.
E flat, G, and B flat.
So, play all of them together.
Same thing as the G minor.
Four counts.
Play it twice.
2, 3, 4.
[B] And then we have C major chord.
[C] Same thing.
1, 2, 3, 4.
1, 2, 3, 4.
And [F] then we come to this part.
F, twice.
B [Bb] flat twice.
And C flat [C] twice.
Okay, let me play for you the pre-chorus again.
[Gm]
2, 3, 4.
1, 2, [G] 3.
[Eb] 1, 2, 3.
1, 2, 3, [C] 4.
1, 2, 3, 4.
1, 2, 3, 4.
[F]
1, [Bb] 2.
[C] Then
[E] we come to the chorus.
The chorus [F] uses F again.
Four counts.
2, 3, 4.
[G] C, [C] four counts.
2, 3, [Dm] 4.
D minor, four counts.
2, 3, 4.
B flat, four [Bb] counts as well.
2, 3, 4.
[Gm] G minor, four counts.
2, 3, 4.
[Eb] D minor, [Dm] four counts.
2, 3, 4.
E [Eb] flat, four counts.
Play it twice.
2, 3, 4.
2, 3, 4.
G minor, play four counts, [Gm] twice.
2, 3, 4.
1, 2, 3, 4.
C, play [C] twice.
2, D [Dbm] minor, [Dm] twice.
3, 4.
And then C, four [C] counts.
2, 3, 4.
[F] And then for the ending, it's F.
2, 3, 4.
A minor, [Am] two counts.
And then D [Dm] minor, two counts.
[Am] Yeah, so it's 1, 2, [Dm] 3, 4.
G minor, [Gm] four counts.
2, 3, 4.
And then we have [C] here a C7.
A C7 uses four notes.
C, E, G, and a B flat.
So you can use four fingers to play that.
Four counts as well.
2, 3, 4.
And then back [D] to F again.
[F]
[G] So if you can play the right hand melody, it will work well with the left hand.
[Fm] [F]
If not, if you want [Eb] to practice just the left hand first, you [F] can try by singing along with the chords.
The living and true [Am] God
The [Dm]
God of all creation
[Bb] In [F]
every generation
[Dm]
Jehovah [Bb] is your name
[Gm] We're honored and we're proud
[Eb] To be your congregation
In [C] every tribe and nation
Your [F] [Bb] glory [C] we proclaim
[F] Jehovah,
[C] Jehovah
[Dm] There is no God [Bb] like you
[Gm] There's no other [Dm] in the heavens
[Eb] Or on the earth below
You [Gm] alone are God Almighty
[C] [Dm] And this we [C] must sing
[F] Jehovah, [Dm] Jehovah
[Gm] We have no other [C] God [F] but you
Yes, of course, you can play a bit more advanced than this.
Once you've mastered the simple chord, you can move on to the arpeggiated style.
[Am] [Dm]
[Bb] It's really up to you if you can play it.
So that's all for my tutorial.
