from having a really tough home life.

I've never ever _ experienced how difficult it must be
to have such a tough home life.
So every time I listen to songs like this,
it makes me thankful, it makes me just realize
how good I've had it over the years.
And I mean, I can't imagine what some people
like this dude have gone through, man. It's insane.

I think we've all had family members

And it was such a beautifully _ sung
and played first verse and chorus.
But then you feel the anger.
Then you feel the rage and the pain in his voice.
And it's just, man, it's so powerful.

not a lot of crazy chords or anything weird.
It just shoots straight to your heart,
straight to your gut.
For kids out there these days
that are going days without a meal,
kids these days who don't wanna get off the school bus
to go home because addiction,
it just wrecks so many families.
And it just inspires me so much
to figure out what I can do locally,
to figure out what I can do.

As a teacher, _ even working at a very nice school
that I work at,
there's just some kids going through some shit, man.
There's some kids that are really, really going through it.
And I have some students tell me sometimes
that being at school is like their oasis
and being at school is like paradise
where me as teachers, sometimes we complain so much
and we get so negative about how much money we make
and all that kind of stuff.
The fact that we can be not a father figure or mother figure
but we can be _ some type of positive impact in kids' lives.
It just reminds me of the job that I have
and I go back to school tomorrow for the first time
since the break.
And it just has really made me have a perspective change
that I don't know what people are going through.
None of us know what people are going through
when you sit by somebody at the bar,
when you brush balm at the library
or whatever it is that you do.
Let's just all be kinder in 2023.
Let's all show more grace.
Let's all _ remember that like him,
I didn't have that tough past
and the really intense upbringing that he has.
And it just encourages me to go
and _ be better to people this [B] year.
But hopefully [F#] when we listen to sad songs like this
that breaks our heart, it pushes us to [B] love people more.
