Hi everyone, this is Ken Mercer.
[D]
[E] In this video today I'd like [Am] to talk about a guitar patch that I've created in a software called [Dm] Waves Audio GTR.
[G]
[Dm] I was recently watching an interview video with Hank Marvin [E] where he was [Am] demonstrating
the [D] various effects he [E] uses for the classic [Am] Shadows tunes, Sleepwalk, Apache, [F] Wonderful Land, etc.
During [Am] Hank's demonstration of Apache, he plays a muted guitar [F] strum,
which allows you to clearly hear the delay effects.
[Am] So I opened up my Waves Audio [F] GTR software, which by the way I'm not [G] promoting or selling,
[C] and I decided [Am] to spend a few hours just trying [F] to replicate the sound of Hank's [G] guitar on the Apache [C] tune.
I literally did spend [F] hours just going back [G] and forth, listening to his sound [C] and [Am] listening to the sound I was making,
and [F] comparing the two and making fine adjustments, until I was [Am] satisfied that the sound was very, very close to the original, [F] if not the same.
At this point of the video [Am] I would just like to stress that everything I'm talking about is all about the delay.
It's [D] not about tone or equalization.
[Am] I have a tone that I have saved on the patch [D] that works for me with my guitar, [Am] with my pickups, with my speakers and amplifiers.
[Dm] It works for me.
[G] The tone may [Dm] not work for you, it may not sound the same, you probably need to [Am] adjust things,
but the delay will [D] be the same, it will be the same [Am] timings, and that's what I want to make a point of.
[F] [G]
Now I'm going to play you some video [C] clips.
[Am] First of Hank playing his sections, [F] and then of me playing the [G] same sections with my patch,
[C] so you can compare the two sounds together.
[F] [G]
[C] [Am]
Let's [A] see.
So this has a definite rhythm to it.

[F] I just want to mention that I have a new CD coming out in a few weeks [Am] time, it's called Out of the Shadows.
It's a Shadows cover CD, and it has 12 songs [D] on it.
So keep an eye [Em] on my website, it [A] will be [D] available for sale shortly.
