Jam Along & Learn...
It's a good to come to finally come down here
I mean this is something that I've [D] wanted to do for a while, and I'm taking some time [Bb] off of touring
sort of get [C] some other things done and
[Db]
So we just hopped over and good on you come to this wonderful [C] wonderful country
This is a little more rocky a white shoes isn't it?
[Ab]
This is really a different album for me, and it's [Bm] just something that we
[Db] you know we had compiled a few [Eb] songs that were a bit different from [Gb] what I usually do and
So we just [Ab] record a few more and put it all together [Db] is sort of like a left feel
Oh, it's not it's definitely not a change of direction.
It's just
You [Eb] know sort of a little trip off into another [Gb] direction and then to come right back to country because [Abm] that's
Basically what I do is the [Db] same country, okay?
So it's basically what you do, but you tend to drift away from time to time and that's obviously [Bbm] your decision
Oh, yeah, because every once while you there's a [Db] song you want to do
And I don't think that the fact that I'm a country singer should stop me from trying other things, but [Bb] I
Always come back to country because that's [Ab] what I like to do.
Well country greats and rock [Gb] and roll greats are your forte
[B] [Ab] You re-record [Db] them are they all your [Ebm] selections or do other people go [Gb] out and pick them for you?
Well, I I pretty much
[Ab] Pick the songs [Db] that I do every once in a while Brian
[Ab] I heard my [Db] producer will come up with a
You know a suggestion as on [Eb] this album his idea to do on the radio
[Gb] Which I thought turned out really well in fact it's one of [Ab] my favorites right
Which is quite [Eb] a way away from what you've been doing in the last oh, yeah, but every once in a while
It's [Gb] nice to try something.
Can you tell [Ab] us?
At what [Eb] stage of a career [Gb] you think your biggest break [Abm] occurred and what that [Eb] was?
[Gb] Well actually [Db] probably just [Ab] the first [Bbm] album and and having it be a [Gb] success I mean [Ab] I went from
[Db] nothing in a sense of having no records and
No one ever hearing of me doing some [Eb] background work
And then all of [D] a sudden I had a number one country record and that was in 75 and [Ab]
there've been a lot of other things
Since then but I think that that's really sort of like day and night
In America how many number one [Eb] singles have you had on the country charts?
[Gb]
[Ab] Probably at least half a dozen maybe [Db] maybe more number one albums.
I'm sorry number one album
[Bbm] About
[Bb] Maybe half dozen.
[Db] I'm really don't know
I just I put them out and [Bb] I go on to work on the next one
I don't really you don't bother to count not really not [Bbm] not to count
I mean, I know I've had some [B] success and that's very [Gb] pleasing to me, but I don't really keep a record of children
[Bbm] You have one child or two [Db] children.
Is it hard to be on the road as a lady performer?
Yes, it [Bb] is
And that's why I'm getting away from being on the road all the time
Which is what [Gb] I was doing and trying to spend much more time [B] at home.
So that's that's in [Db] the US
Number one country singles.
You've had a heap albums.
You've had a heap.
There was a song [E] out here called.
Mr
Sandman that actually went top 40 and that was off an album called of Angeline.
We have a look at that now
Okay.
[D] Thank you very much for coming in and [Cm] we look forward [F] to you coming back and doing a [Dm] tour of this country
