Hey I'm Thelma Plum and you're watching Speaker TV.
He says he's got a dollar but it's all a one night stand.
It was [G] amazing working with Faces.
[E] He's very, very smart and very, just very good at what he does.
He has really cool ideas that start out really crazy and I'm like what?
And then, you know, it will turn out to be something really beautiful.
I was listening to Illy's track, Illy's, sorry, last album
and I remember, and I love Illy so much, but I remember listening to the album
and like taking away Illy's raps and then just listening to the backing track
and listening to the beats and the drums [A] and all these crazy instruments
and [Dm] being like that's amazing and that was [E] Faces.
And I actually went to Illy's show in Brisbane [D] and after the show
[G] ran up to Illy and was like you have to let me meet Faces
and pretty much just stalked him until he [D] agreed to work with me.
Everybody's asking who's into you?
I don't give a fuck cause you're only asking cause you're asking too
So how does it feel if I ask you?
How's your mum?
How's your kids?
How's your husband?
Which beds you run in [G] today?
I'll always say this, I've always said this, but Paul Kelly is a huge influence to me.
He's the whole reason that I started writing music and started listening to music
and wanted to do what I do now.
I listen to, I originate from like folk, country music so I love that sort of [G#] stuff
but then I do love listening to hip hop.
Influences would be [G] mainly like singer songwriters like Paul Kelly and Slim Dusty
and yeah, [F#] people like that.
My parents aren't really musical but they're avid music lovers
and exposed me to great music growing up.
My mum would take me to gigs and a lot of her friends were musicians
and my grandad [Gm] was, [D] he used to play the guitar to me really young
and kind of taught me how to play the harmonica and things like that.
[N]
I [D]
love playing the [Bm] new EP, I guess live at the moment because it's fresh and new
but I love playing around too cause everyone always swears really loudly
so I like that, that's fun.
I think I just have a really potty mouth to be honest
[G] and I don't know, I suppose I wrote those songs purposely, you know, swearing
cause [D] they were, as I like to say, fuck you to my ex-boyfriend.
But [Bm] yeah, the new EP only had one swear word in the whole thing.
I remember showing my parents and afterwards [D] my dad was like,
there's no swearing, what's [G] going on?
And I was like, oh that's [D] nice, I'm the swear girl.
That's so nice, that's really nice, thanks guys, that's so funny.
Won't have to steal my [C] housemates all the time.
He says he's got a dollar but it's all a one night stand.
