I decided this last year to learn some pieces that I had never done before.
And so there's a composer that really stood out.
There's two or three that I learned.
I'm going to play a couple of them.
The first one is a man named Alfredo Casella.
He was a contemporary of Ravel and Debussy and actually was pretty close friends with Ravel.
He was born and raised in Italy and he spent a lot of his life in Paris.
And he and Ravel became close friends _ and contemporaries.
This is a piece that he wrote in _ _ 1919.
_ _ _ _ He calls it Minuetto.
_ And Elizabeth helped me a great deal with this because I'm not a great sight reader.
And so I look at a page and it's more black than it is white on this page.
Because it's five flats and there's a whole lot of accidentals and double flats.
I've never even heard of a double flat before.
So she helped me out with this.
This is Alfredo Casella's Minuetto.
