I love that he took so many pictures.
Like that's where I get it.
Yeah, always about the taking pictures.
Like that's a thing that you've got on your arm or whatever, right?
Yeah, it says start now collecting your memories and stuff.
Yeah, that's so cool.
[Bb] There's a picture for [G] everything they ever did.
I mean for a guy who [Eb] didn't have like, you know, [E] his dad, you know, an [A] adopted dad,
you know what I'm saying?
[G] And to deal with all that stuff, like it was so important to him to [F] keep the family.
You know, just [Eb] that little bit that he did have, like [F] Vicky and you [E] know, all that.
[Db] He wants you to [C] remember.
Yeah, yeah.
That's what I do though, I take so many pictures.
You're much better about it.
I want to [A] remember later on.
You're much better about it, yeah.
You took that to heart.
It's on the same way, [G] like whenever I go, I want to be able to look back at those pictures
and be like, oh yeah, I remember that time.
Or, oh yeah, [F] Dad was cool.
For your family too, you know.
Your family's cool, yeah.
Oh yeah, you remember at the funeral, like the board or whatever with all the pictures [G] on it.
You know, everybody has at a funeral, you know, and it's got all your pictures and all the cool stuff,
you know, all your memories.
And like most of those were from him, you know, like most of those were things that like he'd taken
that were like in his file, you know, [N] at his house.
And like that's really, I don't know.
[E] It's good [D] to remember that.
It's always about that stuff, [A] remembering where you came from, you know,
and being better because of it.
I always strove for that, wanted us to have it.
Right.
[Gb] My sister bought me a dog for Christmas that we shared.
And then about nine [F] months later, I was cutting the grass [Em] and I left the gate open and he got out and he ran away.
And even though we had him chipped and stuff, we couldn't find him [F] for the longest time.
We had the whole soccer team out there looking for him.
Six months, you know, go [D] by and we kind of gave up hope.
[Em] And then not too long after that, about a year, my sister committed suicide.
And then about a month [Abm] after that, [D] Brutus came back to [Ebm] us.
And it was just a total sign that Katie was up [N] there smiling down upon us.
And [Ab] we're so grateful to have him in our [Em] life every day now.
It's just a little remembrance of all the things that she used to do for us.

[Bb] a [Eb]
little [C] bit
[Bb] [Ab]
of [Eb] a mess.
I'm a little bit of a mess.
[Cm] That doesn't [Gm] erase the [Ab] past.
The [Eb] heartache that you felt.
And [C] the way that [Bb] you kicked [Ab] your past.
You are the ones you love.
[Eb] We're hurting now.
[Cm] We're hurting [Eb] now.
Been waiting for another chance.
[Cm] To hear your [Bb] laugh [Ab] again.
[F] You are beautiful.
[Eb] So are you.
[Bb] [Cm]
[Bb] [Eb]
You were supposed to be stronger than me.
But how do you come up to the top of the tree?
A lifetime too early and we were too late.
But the fact that you're driving back home for me
Gives a memory that's far away.
So I'm glad that I met you all today.
[C]
[Bb] I just wanted you [Ab] to know.

[Ab] I'm 12 years old.
And I am sick.
And I didn't want to bite you.
Water [Eb] inside my womb.
And you can't [C] go on.
