Alright, so I'm just going to go through a number of different tone drums
and this is a Rav Vast and this is a
steel handpan or Hong drum
The ones I [D] have in front of me here these front four are called steel tone drums [B] or steel tong drums
[A] Tank drums, they got [D#] a lot of different names
This is one of the first generation happy drums
[F] [D]
And they always come with a set of little mallets
They're a little tougher to play all the tone drums are a little tougher [B] to play with your fingers, so [A#] they come with little mallets
And then [C#] usually I like to play [F] these I got one of the
Newer generation.
It's the same tuning these are the D.
Acabono
from happy and
Because this one's the newer one.
It's about [D] half a tone off
[F] You
[Am] [G] That's how these guys sound they're really good for sound healing
They're nice to play, but they don't quite provide
The resonance and tone that the kaizen drums.
I just picked up some of these from their workshop
Played some at a festival and just really fell for it may also come with a set of mallets
It makes it easier to play on [F#] the tone drums
[E]
[C]
And
this is a
Yakubonus a really similar tuning Japanese tuning to the smaller happy there
this is my favorite kaizen that I've picked up so far as an F big bear [C#] tuning and
[D#] Kaizen has a number of different tunings and colors available that they go with
[C]
[D#] you
You can also [C#] kind of get a little more of a different tone if you're kind of numbing [Fm] with your hand
[C] Kind of takes out some of that and gives it a more solid sound you
[F]
[Fm]
[C#] What we have on [B] the side of tank drums and their benefits usually that they're a lot more affordable
[C#] The smaller happy is usually run about 200 bucks these guys run [A] 350
then we've got our
Steel hand pan or hung drum the cheap ones of these guys are usually running about two grand
Man, they just sound incredible
[G] You know, I'm honestly not sure which brand this is.
I'll [A#] have to put it in the name later
I borrowed it from [Fm] a friend.
There's a number of different hand pans available [Gm] on the market
You
[C] [Gm]
[E] These guys are real [N] fun and then today I
Actually just picked up.
I got it shipped from Russia.
The only guy making these things so far
This is the rav vast
two and this is a
the first one of
The thicker steel and it's got eight keys just makes it resonate a little louder
It's kind of a combination between the two instruments the tank drum the tongue drum and the Hong so it's got the Hong [Am] shape
[C] [Em] And because it has the cuts here it has multiple sounds so it's one node [Am] and three partial tones and
These are still
Custom made only from Andre and rug and Russia for rap drums
This is the rav vast to
[C]
[E] [C] [A] [C]
[Am] You
[C]
[Am]
[Em]
[Am] So that's just kind of a run-through on the different tone drums and steel drums [N] available on the market
There's a lot of different brands and companies but this is to give you a [G#] sound comparison on how they all sound
[F#] [B] Hope you end up with your own and a new [G] beautiful instrument to carry your soul forward
