Jam Along & Learn...
You've been part of music for a lot of years and [C] in all these years things [G] have changed a lot.
lost in the room?
from years ago?
I don't know if it's missing, but the thing that's different, I remember when I started playing,
I started playing because I love the drums and I like listening to other drummers.
kinds of drum corps and different bands.
it was never where I thought people were making a lot of money.
I did it because I like the drums and I like music.

You've been part of music for a lot of years and [C] in all these years things [G] have changed a lot.
_ What do you think _ got lost in the room?
What do [N] you think that today is missing from _ years ago? _ _ _ _
_ _ I don't know if it's missing, but the _ _ _ thing that's different, I remember when I started playing,
I started playing because _ _ I _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
love the drums _ and _ _ _ I like listening to other drummers.
I like playing all kinds of drum corps _ and _ different _ _ _ bands.
But it _ _ _ was _ _ _ _ _ never where I thought _ people were making a lot of money.
It was just _ I did it because I like the drums and I like music.
And it was to be able, you know, _ the goal was to be able to make a living _ _ _ _ and _ support myself _ doing what I love.
_ And then something happened _ where the industry, you know, _ _ changed and people were able to _ play music and make a good living. _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ And so now I think that a lot of the _ _ _ _ _ _ _ motivation today _ is for _ people to _ _ maybe get _ rich _ _ _ _ and _ _ _ get famous.
_ _ And it's possible because of what's going on in the industry for people to be able to do that. _
_ But, you know, I think it's still _ _ important for people that just like to play because they love to play and _ to _ _ _ [D] continue to do that,
whether they get rich or not, _ _ because music is an art and [C] it's a way of expressing _ ourselves and sharing ideas.
And it's not just it doesn't mean if you don't get rich that you're not _ _ you're not _ _ _ _ valid. _ _
It's you know what I mean?
It's like.
And _ _ _ _ _ _ so I think that maybe sometimes today the [N] inspiration might be different
because there's other opportunities _ _ _ _ _ available _ _ _ _ because music went from _ just music to a whole other _ place,
which is it's great because it includes like video music.
A lot of times is like a visual thing. _
I call it music, but it's really like it has to do with dance [G] and _ _ _ _ [Cm]
cinema _ [G#m] and _ [A] theater and production.
And that's great.
_ _ _ [N] But there's still I still think there's a place for guys that just love to play and they shouldn't give _ up
and think that they're _ _ not _ valid because they're not getting rich.
You know what I mean?
If you like if you love playing music, _ _ you should continue to do that.
Even if you have to do something else to to make a living.
You know what I mean?
To to to support what you want to do artistically. _ _ _
And hopefully if you can keep doing what you love, _ _ _ _ _ maybe I don't know if we get rich,
but at least you'll be able to support yourself doing what you like.
_ _ There's just more opportunities.
So I don't know if there's anything missing, but there's more opportunities now.
[D] And you just have to _ not get [C#m] distracted in thinking that you're doing you're going for one thing and shoot.
And [F]
you know what I mean?
And going [C] for that. _ _ _ _ _
It's you have to do what you love and hopefully _ you'll you'll be able to _ _ _ support yourself.
And if something happens where it becomes where something hits and you make a lot of money, that's great.
You know, that's _ that's fantastic.
[N] But it's not always you can't always plan on that, you know.
So, I mean, did that answer the question?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I want to be careful to say that I don't like to get into saying that something's missing or something's wrong.
Or I mean, it's just things are different. _
But the fact that you guys are still _ _ _ _ _ doing what you're doing,
that's like I mean, except for doing the video, I mean, wanting to play music and playing drums.
That's what I did when I was a kid.
So _ _ there's still some things there's still some things that are the same.
You know, it's just you _ can't get discouraged. _ _
You [C#] have to keep it.
[G#] It's hard.
Yeah.
You [C] get tired.
You get tired.
Sometimes _ [G#m] sometimes you have to do something [C#m] else to make a living.
But that [N] doesn't that doesn't mean that you failed that.
_ You know what I mean?
That's not a failure.
It's just _ it's just part of the process, you know.
_ And _ you _ _ have to be _ _ thankful for the part of the process that allows you to _ to play music and meet other people that you respect.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ And and be thankful that you can share ideas. _
_ And _ _ _ _ _ _ I think that's the way it works.
At least I mean, that's the way it's been for me.
You know, I can only share my own [F#] experience.
_ _ _ _ [N] _
