Hey what's up world this is Smooth Cat Beats.
I figured I'd do a video tutorial.
Lots of people on YouTube put up video tutorials of popular songs that, simple songs that people would want to learn how to play on piano that are not really that difficult.
I'm not even really a piano player.
I just play by ear.
I hear stuff and figure out how to play it.
So this is my very first one.
I figured I'd start with something simple.
I don't know if I'm going to be doing a lot of these or not.
This is how you play Still Dre from Dr.
Dre's Honey 2001 album.
I don't have a fancy stand for my camera so I'm going to be balancing on my hand while I'm playing [E] at the same time.
So yeah here you go.
So the main thing, well the first part is the bass part which is pretty much just three notes.
Let's see if I can get up here.
So you start with I believe it's the E.
I don't play piano so I don't really know all the notes like some of the people do.
But it starts off with an E note.
And you go [A] which is an A.
[B]
[E] So that right there just repeats for the whole time you're playing with the other part with the right hand.
So it goes like.
[A] [B] [E]
[A] [B] [E]
[A] [B] [E]
[A] [B] [E] [C] Alright so that's that part.
And then the main part that everybody knows and is familiar with starts off in a C down here.
Alright so the three notes that you're playing is a C, E,
[B] and a [C] B.
Now throughout the whole time the only note that's going to stay the same is the E.
So the first note and the last note are going to change.
But the first and the last note are going to change but the second one stays the same the whole time you're playing.
So the first part you play is.
And then the C goes down to a B.
So it goes.
[Em] Alright so you do the first part.
[C] Hit that eight times and then on the ninth time go down one.
So it goes like.
[Em] [Bb] And you only hit that three times.
And then you take this [Gm] down to.
[C] Alright so you got
[Em] [C]
[Em] [C]
[Em]
[Bb] that.
And like I said so you play that part along with the other part.
I only got one hand so I can't play them both at the same time.
But you get the picture.
I can try to balance it I guess like with my neck or something.
I don't know if it will work.
Maybe not.
[E]
So let's recap.
So you got this [A]
[B] [E] [A]
[B] [E] [A] at [C] the same time you are playing this.
[Em] [Am]
[Em]
So you have that.
I'll set it down so you can hear how it sounds all together.
So here it goes.
[C] [E]
[Am] [E] [Am]
[Em] [Am]
[Em] [Am]
[F] And there you go.
That's how to play Dr.
Dre's Still Dre from Chronic 2001.
One of my favorite rap albums.
Like I said this is my very first YouTube post.
So hopefully you guys, somebody will like it.
Somebody will maybe put something on there.
And if I get some replies maybe I'll do some more.
