[D] Well, it's something I've done [Am] for many years now, worked in the houses that I [D] have.
This is my environment and I [E] want to be creative in it.
[Am] And everybody [B] enjoys the ambiance [C] of the house and the [D] food and the [Am] view.
Ask [C] everybody, they prefer working somewhere [Dm] like this than [E] some solar studio.
[Am] To have people working [Bm] in the [C] house in a creative [D] way, whether it's [Am] musicians or [Bm] film crews or [C] whatever,
[E] is good for the house.
I think there's an energy that seeps into the brickwork, you know,
the house feels used, it feels, so when you come back to it, it has some great memories.
I spend so much of my life away from home.
When I can be at home, I want to be at home.
[A] We're in the middle of rehearsal and we don't have very much time to rehearse.
So this is where we start [Em] from, this is how we want to [Am] learn the tunes to the point [G] that
[Am] it's the [B] kind of lowest common denominator of arrangement.
We started off deconstructing all the songs [Am] and just taking them back to kind [G] of drum machine and a bit of my sequence bass.
Not having a drummer actually allows colours to [Am] emerge that the sonic range of drums tend to obliterate.
I love drummers, I like loud rock and roll music, but in the rehearsal period, that's all you hear.
[B] The acid [Am] test for whether a song is a good song or not is whether you can break it down into just a simple rendition.
If it still works like that, it's a good song as far as I'm concerned.
It's a very good transition stage between [D] the recording, the big show [Dm] with the drummer.
It [Am] will sound different from the album, [D] just by the [A] fact that we don't have 96 tracks in the recording studio.
We have to just do what we can do as five musicians.
[Am] Certain things we [G] can't play.
If [Am] we had four hands each, maybe we could.
So we have to rationalise what's important.
We spent [Gm] a year [Am] making this record and really honing the songs.
Now we're making them completely naked and reinventing them.
This performance will be something different, something [D]
hopefully better.
I think [C] we're ready now to [A] play the songs in this environment and add a bit of performance to what we've done in Malibu.

[Bbm] I climb [C] the [Dbm] tower inside [Ebm] my head [Bbm]
A [C] spiral [Dbm] stair above [Ebm] my bed
[Bbm]
I [C] dream the [Dbm] stairs and [Ebm] ask me why [Bbm] I throw [C] myself [Dbm] into [Ebm] the [A] sky
You know, it's interesting singing with Joy.
Joy sang backup on a lot of the album, but because she's such [Am] a good singer,
I want to feature her more.
So I'm giving her some of the lines in a song like Inside.
[G] It's a brilliant song to do.
[Am] At first, it was like,
he was like, can you just take [A] the alternate lines?
Which is just me ranting, you know.
I've given her half of the lines, and so it becomes [G] about a man and a woman
fighting a battle with words.
[Am] And it's changing the meaning of the song.
It's changing [E] the meaning of the words.
And it's a very [Am] interesting theatrical little [Ebm] struggle going on.
[Bbm] Love me like a baby [G] Love me like an only [Gb] child
Love me like an ocean Love [Ebm] me like a mother, [Bbm] mom
Love me like a [G] father Love me like a brother, [Gb] son
Love me like a [C] sister Love me like the world's [Gb] just begun
[Em] So I was thinking, okay, I'm a backing [E] vocalist,
so basically don't kind of [B] go too over the top.
That's why I was very, very [F] wary of putting too much of myself in it.
Because I was [Am] like, but it's great anyway.
You know, this is [D] Sting's song, and Sting's [A] singing on it.
So what can I do?
Joy, you could give us some [Bbm] attitude.
[C] Inside [Dbm] [Eb] [Bbm] [Gb] Inside
[Dbm] [Ebm] [B] Inside
And then he said, oh, give us some more.
So I was [Ebm] like, oh, yeah, you want more?
I'll [Bbm] give you more.
Love me like a [G] father Love me like a brother, [Gb] son
Love me like a [C] sister Love me like the [Bbm] world's just begun
Love me like a papa [G] G Love me like a ninja [Ebm] fight
Love me like an innocent man Love me like a [Bbm] favorite toy
Love me like a [G] virgin Love me like a [Gb] cornered man

Violate [G] me Infiltrate me

[Bb] And [Bbm]
she can definitely dish, you [Abm] know?
Just a bit more vibe.
[Gm] Yeah.
[Am] If they're good songs, they will transmute their meaning
into

You know, it's interesting singing with Joy.
_ _ Joy sang backup on a lot of the album, but because she's such [Am] a good singer,
I want to feature her more.
[C] Inside _ [Dbm] _ _ [Eb] _ _ [Bbm] _ [Gb] Inside
_ [Dbm] _ _ [Ebm] _ [B] Inside
And then he said, oh, give us some more.
So I was [Ebm] like, oh, yeah, you want more?
I'll [Bbm] give you more.
Love me like a [G] father Love me like a brother, [Gb] son
Love me like a [C] sister Love me like the [Bbm] world's just begun

_ _ _ she can definitely dish, you [Abm] know?
Just a bit more vibe.
_ _ _ [Gm] Yeah.
[Am] If they're good songs, they will transmute their meaning
into
