[C] [G] The Wrong [C] Well was one of the very [G] first songs that I wrote when I started writing again.
[C] You know, when I lost my deal with Capitol and I kind of checked [G] out of the music business,
I mean, I didn't write a song, I [Am] didn't pick up my guitar, I didn't do anything for years.
And so [C] I moved out to the farm where I'm living now and started mending [G] fencing for my horses
and shoving a lot of horse poop [A] and so I spent a lot of [Am] time out in the back pasture
[F] just thinking and praying and [D] I started [C] singing again, you know, [F] just to myself,
[Fm] which I hadn't really done [G] for years.
And I started getting these song ideas and I was like, I should probably write these down.
And then eventually I thought, I probably need to start really doing some of these and [C] developing them.
And I called my friend [G] Michael Boggs and I said, look, I [C] haven't done this in years
and I've [G] never really been secure in my songwriting ability, so I don't know if this is going to be any good,
but I think I have some good [C] ideas.
Would you want to write?
He was like, are you kidding?
So we got [G] together and started writing and The Wrong Well was one of [C] the first songs that we wrote
and [G] it's basically about [F]
[G] making choices, you know, because with every path that we choose,
you [F] know, [G] with every path that we walk, we all have a choice on how we're going to [C] walk it.
And [G] I've been very blessed in my life and I've made some really [Am] good choices
and I've made some really bad choices and [F] the bad choices [G] were [F] bad.
They were pretty [C] destructive and got me way off my path.
[G] And so that's really what [Am] this song is about.
[F] Making good choices.
