Derek you actually played last night with one of our favorite local bands Jess grew up belly up.
How was that?

I remember this morning that that happened _ _
_ _ [D] We had a great time the whole the whole band or most of the band was out so
_ [Gb] We we [Ab] somehow made our way on the stage.
[G] It was good
It's a [Ab] good time crabs play bass and then [Gm] guitar and JJ Johnson
jumped up on drums [Gb] Maurice Brown played trumpet and
_ [D] I [G] think Saunders sermon played some trombone and saying _ [Ab] singing so it was good.
We had a [Bb] good night.
We had a good night
That's the best [Eb] part about Aspen.
You never know who's [Eb] gonna show up on a stage, you know
And that's fun having 11-piece band.
You can _ you can spread [A] out around the [F] town and take over every jam [Bb] session
_ _ _ It's happened many times so traveling with an 11-piece band
I mean, that's a lot of logistics a lot of just stuff going on.
It's gotta be kind of different, you know
It's a big operation, you know, it's a it's a lot of people [Ab] on the road
It's a lot of [Gm] schedules to [Ab] to work out, [Bb] but it's it's [Ab] working, you know
I think the momentum is [Gm] finally starting [Ab] to carry [Gm] the band [Eb] now or at [G] first it was it was [Ab] pushing a boulder uphill for a [G] minute
But it's [D] _ it's working, you know when you get on stage and it and it [Ab] locks it
[Gm] You realize [Gb] that you're gonna do it regardless [Gb] of how difficult it is, but it's nice when it starts rolling _

Well, you guys are headed [Bb] to Salt Lake after this but uh one tour stop
[Ab] I noted, you know [D] looking on the internet you guys actually played at the White House not too long ago
Yeah, talk to me about that.
It was amazing
We _ got the call to [Bb] do the show and it was a bunch of different blues artists and BB King and buddy guy Keb Mo
_ _ I can't even think everybody who was on it Booker [A] T.
[Bb] Well, of course Booker T was Fred Wesley
_ Yep, quite a lineup.
It was amazing.
So they invited us and we're like, of course, we'll be there and we brought our kids and
You know got to hang out.
I actually got asked by Mick to sing with him.

But you know, it was [Bb] just funny because my kids were like who's that guy?
And they didn't know him but they knew Booker T because he played with Otis Redding and they're like, oh we want to meet him
You know, they're excited to meet Booker T
Proud dad moment.
I was pointing out to my daughter who was eight
[Gm] She was maybe seven at the time [G] who was in the [F] room and when I got to Booker T
I was [Ab] like and he's on all those Otis Redding recordings.
Like that's the guy I want [Dm] to meet
He's like that [Ab] is the guy you want to be
_ _ [D] With Fred Wesley, so _ Fred Wesley and Booker T.
I'm like, I think you've got good taste
Yeah, that's that's a good day, you know, [Bb] we it was a day of [G] rehearsal in the White House before the actual show
So getting to hang with your family and [Gb] that crew it was pretty [E] surreal.
Yeah after that whole list

He came down during the rehearsal on the day before and [Bb] is like, you know
Not so dressed up nice and comfy [Em] because it was President's Day
Actually _ a holiday for him and he came down he was chewing gum I was like, this is awesome
