_ _ In the [D#] 1970s, under the [C] wings of hitmakers [F] Mike Chapman and Nicky Chin,
Suite, with Mick Tucker, Brian Connolly, Steve Priest and Andy Scott,
became famous with an almost [B] endless string of hits, eight of which [G] became number ones.
[B] Songs like [E] Ballroom Blitz, Teenage Rampage, Wigwam Bam [Cm] and Hellraiser
made suite to [C] enduring cult stars of the rock scene.
Not [Fm] just because of the glam rock boom [F] of the time, which the band [G#] dominated like no other,
[C] but also because of their musical quality, excellent album production and especially their [N] thrilling live shows. _ _ _

Suite [Dm] came to me about 45 years ago.
_ [Gm] [C] I was in a band called The [F] Elastic Band.
We used to do these [A#] radio roadshows for the BBC in England.
[Am] _ [Gm] And they came along to [F] one of these roadshows to do a little bit of promotion.
And they found themselves a few months later, as I did, without a guitar [G#m] player on their side and me without a band.
And I guess that the late summer of 1970 was lucky for both of us because we found a perfect fit where I joined Suite.
And [A] as they say, the rest is history.

_ _ Now Suite can celebrate the 40th anniversary of one of their greatest ever hits, Action,
and release the new best of disc that at last tells the ultimate Suite story from the very beginning to today.
Also under the same motto, Action, 40 years of [G] hits.

To this day, the Suite [Am] motto, [G] Satisfaction [D] Guaranteed, is true of each [G] one of the sellout Suite [D] concerts,
which [G] are virtually celebrated [A] by mastermind [D] Andy Scott.

The [Dm] 45 years of Suite is definitely [A#] something [Gm] worth celebrating.
[Dm] With the Action [D] release, I think we are 40 years from when Action was released as well.
I think it's important to recognize these milestones.
You've got to remember how you [A] felt when you first heard [E] it.
And even after 40 [B] years, Action is by no means the end of the [E] line,
as can be [A] heard on the brand new song Defender that celebrates its premiere [E] exclusively on this album.
In [B] a batch of songs that were sent to me by [A] somebody who represents songwriters,
this one track popped up.
[C#m] It's called Defender.
I went, [B] wow.
But not the way [A] he'd done it.

The DVD set, comprising three [E] DVDs [G] brimming with hits, [A] presents seven hours of [D] live action,
including all of the legendary [G] Suite hits as original video clips and live performances
from the [F] most important TV shows of the [F#] time, including the BBC hit show Top of [D] the Pops.
On top of this, there's yet another rare fan highlight [G] from the German [D] Musikladen TV studio,
an entire live [G] concert, until now [A] never before screened [D] or aired in any way.
[G] When I was first shown [Am] a piece of footage that I thought had disappeared forever, [Em] a German TV [G] show,
I said, that's horrible, you can't show that.
But having now seen a few [D] bits of it,
well, I'm quite proud that the [G] footage is [E] still there and you see [D] _
what happened.
And the [Am] sound may not be perfect, the [E] pictures may not be perfect,
but there [N] is Suite in all its glory in [A] 1974. _
