[F] Okay, how's everybody doing?
I was just going through my vids and saw that I had never posted anything with a power cord
So I thought I'd throw something up here real quick.
I'll start [F#] off with something real simple
Sweet Jane by Cowboy Junkies
The cords we're going to be using is a D shaped power cord, which is your index finger
A string
fifth fret pinky finger on the D string seventh fret
We're doing an A, which [G] is carrying both of those fingers [F#] up a string
So your index finger is now on the E string
fifth fret and your pinky finger is now on the A string seventh fret
That's your A
Go to a G
Which is the same finger position just on the third and fifth fret
Index still on the E, pinky still on the A string
third and fifth fret
Okay, and that's the only cord you really need to put us on
There is a
slight interlude where he just stays on D
for a whole sequence and
[F] Part of the song where he [F#] does heavenly blue-eyed roses seem to whisper to me is
You'll be playing a D and then he goes into a D flat or a C sharp and then to a
[E] I'm sorry from a D to a D flat, just move it down one fret
[F#] And then to a G [E]
and then to a A and you'll play through that twice and then where he does this
[F]
la la la la [F#] la
You'll be hitting a D
[E] D A
C
But I won't be covering that
[F] Just want to go ahead and give you the chords
Once [E] you get used to the song if you want to add that in feel free to and that's that's your positions
[F] Now you can play this open chorded also, [F#]
which is the D, A and a G
but
[F] You'll find it sounds a lot [E] better on power chords.
So I would suggest you do that
[D] But uh, anyway, let's go ahead and [F#] jump on into it
for the D shape
We're gonna pluck it once
[Am] Now, I'm sure majority of you already know
but uh when you [B] shake the power chords you want to concentrate mainly on the two chords that you have previous and
Especially when this song
Will get sound so you'll just be hitting on the D.
You'll just be hitting the A and [D] the D string
[E] Then when [F] you do your other two
[E] Since they have a E for root note, you just keep plucking your E and A
Okay, so [C] anyway, let's go ahead and cover those trumps the D.
You're going [B] to hit it once
A [F#] you're going to hit once
G you'll hit twice
[G] [F#] Give it a slight pause hit it once [G] more
[F] Go back to your [E] A hit it once and then hit the D twice
[D] [F#]
I sometimes for the very first part of the song I start off with hitting the D twice
Just add a little beat extra
It's just easy for me to start playing it that way
But you can start off with one or two, you know
But as it cycles around you'll get the rhythm and I'll go ahead and give you a sample of that
[D] [G]
[D] [G]
