This man is from Australia, a fountainhead of talent these days, the Bee Gees and Olivia Newton-John and many other fine people come from there.
He's for many, many years one of their biggest stars.
Came here a while ago and it's been a very interesting period of his life.
We're gonna find out a little bit more about it.
Got a nice hit record these days.
Ladies and gentlemen, Mr.
Rick Springfield!
Turn up the radio, and let your angel of [C] sweet sweet music
[D] Take your baby and hold her in your [C] arms and hear the music go
And [D] if you're feeling like it, go get your lover [C] and we will rock ya
And roll it all the [D] way home, [C] what you need
[D] Take a hand, [G] [D] take a hand, [G] take a hand, you've got to let [D] it show

[D] And if you're feeling like it, go [Am] get your lover and we [C] [D]

gentlemen congratulations it's nice to have you back sir how are you
I know you would you introduce the gentleman with a strange-looking hat
this is Kevin Crosley from my home country on piano very nice to have you
with us Kevin welcome aboard behind drums up here
Jack White Jack nice to see you on the bass next to him bass is mighty David
and on guitar Jeff Silverman and keyboards Gabriel Katona you know this
is the second time this has happened in two days I've said they don't look at
it were you did we putting them on because I have a friend who came here
and said and that's did you play all the instruments on this album yeah I played
most of them Nigel Olson who played drums for Elton John amongst other
people did all the drumming on it and I played most of the instruments I this is
normally a non-controversial sort of easygoing show but I'm gonna lay
something on your head now how many years you've been in this country about
three and a half you're very well known you're very successful in Australia
right I mean you can say that unashamedly say that I'm ashamed of it
what happened to you here you lay around for three and a half years you did a
cartoon show you made funny records I mean why would a man of your stature get
into that well I came over here really believing in my music and I got hooked
up and guided in the wrong direction for me anyway I mean what those were not
your decisions no I was what's happening now is I had to I had to just
I finally just said that's enough and and I ended it with all the people that
that were guiding me in this direction and we won't dwell on the past and I
when I knew you then and it sounds like another age and yeah I know it's one of
those things make your stomach want to roll over because I looked at him and
said this is weird this man is extraordinarily successful and he's
doing strange things here and I never did figure it out what is your direction
now I do you write all this material yeah I've always written all my stuff
but I just I started to get very schizophrenic towards the end of the last
stage and now I'm I'm I've got my head straight I think and direction for
myself you're happy with what you do basically what have you learned anything
from all of this my young man yes I've learned what I really want to do what's
what's the bottom line moral of this story for others who have to follow in
your footsteps to be happy and do as your own head tells you absolutely
